Hey hey, y'all. Time for another medley!
Today I'm starting off with my favorite band, Kamelot, who've just released a new single from their upcoming album, The Shadow Theory. The new song, "Ravenlight," ticks a lot of boxes for me as a Kamelot song: a great guitar riff, solid drums (the departure of longtime drummer Casey Grillo hasn't seemed to have hurt them too much), and of course ridiculous vocals from lead singer Tommy Karevik, who continues to forge his own role distinct from the man he replaced, Roy Khan.
Next we have a song from Southern rap group, Cypress Hill. This song, "Can't Get the Best of Me," is an odd one among Cypress Hill's discography, featuring a noticeable hard rock influence which includes a driving riff, which makes this song great workout music.
Next is a song from one of my favorite vocalists, and possibly one of the greatest vocalists alive: Andrea Bocelli. This song, Jurame, features a collaboration with the lead singer of the Gipsy Kings, Nicolas Reyes, whose distinctive vocals and gravitas lend this Bocelli song a powerful flamenco verve.
Last up is a metal classic, which I have fond memories of playing in Guitar Hero World Tour. This is "Pull Me Under" by Dream Theater.
