I've been on this site for many years, most active during the football season and less so at other times of year. This year, I've not posted much because I've been extremely busy.
- I now work as an independent biological consultant, and my work schedule this year has caused me to miss most of the football season. This included three consecutive Saturdays where I was working in remote field conditions in northern Nevada in an area with no cell reception.
- I am, of course, still running which is what most folks here know me for. I finished fifth overall at a 50K trail race on the Saturday *after* I got back from Nevada, so I missed that game. I then paced my wife on another Saturday at her first 50 mile race, so I missed the Iowa game (thankfully). This weekend, I successfully completed the Chimera 100 mile trail race, so I knew nothing of the Illinois game until yesterday morning.
Finally, I get to chill this week, enjoy some Thanksgiving turkey, and watch The Game. As a 44 year-old lifetime Buckeye and Ohio State grad, The Game means a lot to me. I was at The Game in Ohio Stadium last year. I look forward to watching it from the comfort of my living room in Los Angeles this year. I hope my productive year this year from a life perspective is rewarded with a beatdown of that team this weekend.
