According to this article, Marion Correctional Institution inmates cobbled together two PCs in prison and were able to connect to the prison's network in 2015, but the story just came out due to a report just getting released recently.

Prison officials were able to trace the location of the rogue computers and remove them from the prison but not before inmates were able to get their hands on internal records of other inmates and access websites that had information about manufacturing drugs and makeshift weapons. The inmates even plotted to steal the identity of a fellow inmate and file tax returns under that inmate’s name.
