The wonderful people at Burrow Press Review (out of Orlando, FL) published my football-themed short story, "A Steady Hand" as part of their "Fantastic Floridas" series. It's available for reading here on their website:

Even though I'm a fiction writer at heart, lately I haven't had many stories out, while I've been publishing poetry out the wazoo (and out some other places too), so it's nice to have some physical proof that I can still write a story.
Anyway, the story is pretty simple, the main character, Bishop Clay, is a former high school defensive tackle now working as a welder for his former on-field rival, former quarterback David Bellic. Before the story starts, Clay's job is in jeopardy, so he has to be David's driver to save his job. Complications ensue. Oh, also, the town they're in is never named, but it's based on my hometown, Niceville, FL.
It's about nine pages long, so not a big read. Please let me know what you all think.
