Oh this offseason business...it hurts so bad. But alas, there has been some semi-college football related news this weekend: the NFL Draft Combine.
Quick Hitters:
- So...Darron Lee has made himself quite a bit of money this weekend. Pretty sure no one saw a LB outpacing Braxton Miller this weekend, and that Braxton guy is no slouch I've been told.
- Was a little surprised at Taylor Decker's bench press performance. Twenty out of an offensive tackle is not top tier. That said, I'm sure some of it can be explained by his long arms. I recall watching a Pro Bowl bench press competition the NFL did several years ago where Simeon Rice and his practically 12 foot long arms were just blasted by Warren Sapp and his six inch long arms, so hopefully that helps Decker.
- I've got to say that the recruitment of all of these athletes is really showing in the agility drills (Three cone, 20 and 60 Yard Shuttles). The Buckeyes are posting some extremely low numbers in those three drills.
The Cigar:
I've been going through a number of samplers lately and came across this gem - the JFR 770 L.E. Corojo from Casa Fernandez Cigar Company. This Nicaraguan stick has an excellent spiced taste and a very smooth draw. Since stumbling upon the JFR 770, I've found myself going through two or three of them a week the last few weeks or so. Just wonderful.
I'm still enjoying the Balvenie Doublewood 17 (though not the same bottle...it's been a couple months since my last Up In Smoke so no way the last bottle survived that long). The JFR and Balvenie pairing works out very nicely. That said, I've been thinking about trying out some Bourbons while cigar smoking in the future, but first I need to really find my Bourbon taste. You can probably expect that transition occurring over the summer.
This edition's question: I've recently found some cigars which have multiple smoke characteristics, such as it starts mild and builds to a full smoke towards the end. I've not tried any but wanted to know if anyone on the boards has and what your experience has been?
