Yesterday afternoon I realized that my thermostat was set on 73 but the temp was 75 and rising. I took a look at the unit outside, and it was iced over in places. I quickly realized the furnace blower wasn't running, and it continued to not run even when I switched the Fan setting on the thermostat from Auto to On.

Long story short, I found that the blower was making a low humming noise when it was supposed to be running, and I reached my hand in the "hamster wheel" area and gave it a little spin, and off it went. Ever since then, the blower has kicked on when it is supposed to, and all is well.

I'd like to address the problem before it gets worse. This youtube video indicates that it's the capacitor, so I'm thinking about purchasing this part and replacing it. Before I spend the money and go to the trouble, I was wondering if anyone could validate/invalidate the direction I'm headed.
