Greetings, fellow Buckeyes!
In case you didn't know, this week is National Engineers Week (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Engineers_Week_%28U.S.%29). If you know an engineer, especially a Buckeye grad from one of the great engineering major programs at The Ohio State University, thank them for the work they do. Engineering's influence can be seen all around us, in almost everything we do! From buildings, medical, power generation, bridges, airplanes, cars, gasoline, diapers, food, your children's toys, electronics, the internet, cell phones, furniture, houses, fabrics, metallurgy, welding, farming, movies, and so many more. For those of you with kids getting close to college age who have any interest in engineering (or any STEM field), push them to pursue their interests. There is a great diversity of opportunities out in the world to touch almost any field they may want.
Thank you to all the engineers working hard every day! It is a great field to work in, and I am proud to be a part of it!
