After failing to win a single conference game in 2018 or 2019, Rutgers has a victory in 2020 - and almost had a precious second one tonight.

Last month the Scarlet Knights ended their 21-game losing streak in the conference with a 38-27 win in East Lansing. Tonight in Piscataway, the home team fell to the Wolverines 48-42 in a thrilling 3-overtime loss. Michigan beat Rutgers 52-0 last season; it's not hard to see the trajectories of both programs.

Rutgers visits Purdue next Saturday, while Michigan hosts Penn State in a battle that could determine the East's 7th place representative in the scheduled Dec 19 crossover games with the West.
