The turnover chain was out in full force as the Hurricanes trounced the Fighting Irish.

"The essence of being human is that one does not seek perfection." -George Orwell

Our picks went 5-6 last week, and while that's certainly not ideal, I'm not going to complain too much given the circumstances. Betting on Butch, Bert, and the Gators is almost a guaranteed disaster. Quite honestly, I'm surprised it wasn't a little bit worse.

We took the under on the Baylor/Texas Tech game, and that's something I hate doing for Big 12 contests. Somehow that one worked out for us as the point total (62) fell short of the 72.5 over/under. We had Auburn +3 against Georgia and Gus Malzahn clearly has been paying attention to our picks. The Tigers whooped the Bulldogs by a score of 40-17.

Notre Dame traveled to Miami for the biggest game of the weekend. We had the Hurricanes (+3.5). Our friend Richard "Clay" Travis had the Fighting Irish covering. In fact, he was quite adamant about his stance. #ShootersShoot

Notre Dame has won every game this year by double digits except for a one point loss to Georgia. Now the Fighting Irish are going on the road for an old school college football rivalry reunion, it’s Catholics vs. Convicts all over again. (With the added irony of Notre Dame actually having more arrested players on its football team than Miami does.)

Ultimately I just think the Notre Dame offensive line is too good for Miami to stop.

And while I was clearly wrong last week about the U in their game against Virginia Tech, I think the Irish win by double digits and cement their status as a likely playoff team.

Plus, and you guys can hate me for this, I’m just not a believer in the U. They were great last week, but they’ve been mediocre against mediocre opponents for most of the past six weeks.

Thank you Mark Richt – and that amazing turnover chain – for putting an end to this madness and silencing the millions of bandwagon Notre Dame fans. That was a massacre in Coral Gables, and I have absolutely no idea how Clemson is ahead of the Canes in the latest playoff rankings, but that's a whole different story in itself.

Potential MLB Hall of Famer Alex Rodriguez grew up in Miami and actually signed a letter of intent to play baseball for the Canes before ultimately signing with the Seattle Mariners. A-Rod put everyone to shame this weekend when he appeared as the celebrity picker on ESPN's "College Gameday." Rodriguez nailed all 12 of his Saturday picks and clearly should start his college football gambling ring. I'm sure he could use the extra cash.

TCU and Penn State both burned us last weekend. The Horned Frogs were unable to keep it close against Oklahoma. The Nittany Lions trailed Rutgers after the first quarter, and while they got it together eventually, the 29-point victory wasn't enough to cover the spread of 31.

Weekly reminder:

  • No analysis is involved as we are just making the opposite picks. None of this actually reflects our gambling thoughts, opinions, or insight.
  • For now we are sticking with $10 on each line. Please note that the lines do move throughout the week.
  • Ohio State won't be included on our end.

What an absolutely terrible slate of games this weekend. Alabama playing Mercer this late in the season is an embarrassment. The same goes for Auburn hosting Louisiana-Monroe and Clemson taking on the mighty Citadel. Those three teams would probably struggle against Illinois, and that obviously says it all.

Michigan at Wisconsin is about the only thing I'm looking forward to, and while Dick Travis isn't laying any money down on that one, let me just say that I'm a bit concerned about the Wolverines shutting down the running game and forcing Alex Hornibrook into some mistakes. The Buckeyes want to face an unblemished Wisconsin team in Indy, so hopefully Michigan doesn't have other plans.

We apparently don't like a lot of points this week as we're rolling with the under in four different games. I don't have a feel one way or the other for these, but I suppose taking less than 73.5 for that Louisville game at least looks decent on paper. Georgia could score 51 on its own against Kentucky, but maybe Kirby Smart and crew will be looking ahead to next week's road game against Georgia Tech.

I don't like picking Florida, but maybe this is the weekend where they can actually do something against a less talented team. Oh wait, UAB is apparently 7-3 on the season, so I won't get my hopes up on that one either. Mississippi State will probably dismantle the Fighting Berts, but maybe Kansas can keep it respectable (and lose by 36) at home against Baker Mayfield.

Let's go ahead and summon our inner A-Rod and have an undefeated week 12. #GetRich
