Baylor University is the subject of a major scandal over the past several months regarding how the university addressed sexual assault allegations against members of the football team. Baylor University's president, Ken Starr, may not survive this scandal in his position, though the university has denied reports that it fired Starr.

According to ESPN's Brett McMurphy, head coach Art Briles told his players via text that the university fired him for his role in this scandal. Baylor made it official shortly after noon. (The full release can be read HERE. Baylor's "finding of facts"—should you be able to stomach it—can be found HERE.)

Pat Forde is reporting Phil Bennett, Baylor's defensive coordinator, will assume the head-coaching duties on an interim basis.
