It's stories like these that remind us sports aren't worth much, and maybe we aren't either for carrying about them so much.

Three-year-old Chad Carr, the grandson of former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr, has been diagnosed with an inoperable tumor on his brain stem.

Tammy Curtis Carr, daughter of former Michigan defensive back Tom Curtis and daughter-in-law of Lloyd Carr, took to Facebook to ask for support for her "precarious, beautiful and smart" son:

"We now need prayers and it's my hope that this goes viral and millions fall in love with my little man and send him prayers," wrote Carr, a mother of three sons. "It's going to take a miracle and I believe it can happen and I hope you will help and spread his story!!"

Godspeed, young Chad. Your book isn't written just yet.
