D'Angelo Russell makes it four for the Buckeyes

Ohio State and Thad Matta received some good news today when 2014 guard D'Angelo Russell committed to the Buckeyes. Corey Albertson of Rivals.com first broke the news on twitter:

Russell will join a class that already has three other prospects committed in forwards Keita Bates-Diop and Jae'Sean Tate and also big man David Bell. Thad Matta will look to take at least one more prospect, preferably a center. Jahlil Okafor of Chicago and Elbert Robinson of Texas appear to be the two main targets at this point. PG Tyus Jones insists on being a package deal with Okafor and would be a player that you can't say no to. Russell has stated he plans to recruit the nations top overall prospect, Jahlil Okafor, to come join him in Columbus.

D'Angelo Russell also went to Twitter to announce his intention to commit to Ohio State (and also post a pretty cool picture):

This news comes days after we reported that D'Angelo Russell was on campus for a visit. This early commitment comes as a surprise, but many expected him to eventually pick the Buckeyes over the hometown Louisville Cardinals. In an interview with Adam Zagoria, the guard told him that Michigan State was actually his second choice.

The highly rated guard is known for his excellent shooting stroke and his play making ability. The 6'4 guard has the potential to play point guard, but he seems to be more of a natural fit at the shooting guard position. Here is some video of Ohio State's newest basketball commitment:
