UC is the most consistently competitive option in both FB & BB. And therefore the only real choice.
If you are going to have an in state rival, it has to be a team that would match up. Otherwise it is just a joke and a yearly paycheck to be a sparring partner during the pre season games. With that said, the only team that comes close to matching up would be UC. It would be fun to see them play each other in hoops every year, that would be a good rivalry.
May you R.I.P. Otsego, but know this. Gaylord Rocks!
I would love to beat UC every year. It would finally shut up everyone down hear in the Nati, including my entire extended family. As Oyster said, basketball would be great too, although wouldn't be as crippling. It's been mentioned, but a TriState Invitational every year for b-ball would be awesome. OSU, UC, Louisville, UK, UD, Indiana, Butler, Purdue - rotate playing sites each year, Pretty cool IMHO.
Why no mention of miami?
I'm pressured by the media in wanting to keep OSU's schedule MAC-free.
OU's mascot is still owed a beating
The postgame show is brought to you by... Christ, I can't find it. The hell with it...
If we played Ohio, who would Hoke root for?
Italics are for emphasis.
Can 'Not Have One" be an option?
Kidding aside, I grew up in Michigan, where fan bases are obviously divided. I always thought it was awesome that Ohio only had one real 'go to' fan base; one that the majority of the state was behind.
Set the Earth Reverberating
I feel like Miami should be mentioned to round out the MAC options before everyone picks Cincy
None Of The Above
Why provide exposure for schools that continuously lobby to take funds away from the State's flagship school?
I'd like to see tOSU schedule Dayton, UC and Xavier more in bball, as all three are usually pretty decent, There really isn't a school in fball on par with tOSU in Ohio.
And then I told her...i'm no weatherman, but tonight's forecast is calling for several inches!
agreed, with the rise of pre-season tournaments in college basketball it would be really sweet to have an Ohio pre-season tourney. Ohio State, Cincinnati and Xavier are regularly good, Ohio is pretty good too and Akron was a tournament team last year. Toledo is decent as well and you can throw in the rest of the teams for fun. It would be a lot of fun
