Choices Braxton Miller Kenny Guiton Vote Comments Show All Comments Haybucks 12 Sep 2013, 5:56 am Miller starts and his knee will be under a microscope. Kenny G will enter if Braxton can't cut or starts limping. If the world comes to an end, I want to be in Cincinnati. Everything comes there ten years later. - Mark Twain Hovenaut Mod 12 Sep 2013, 7:04 am Let Brax travel, let Brax dress, let Brax contribute from the sideline. As the week has gone on, I just don't feel confident without hesitation that #5 can go without issue. Had we have heard a definitive "He'll be fine" earlier in the week, sure. But if we're hearing "we should know by Thursday"....I think it's best he sit this one out. I can't shake the image of Braxton going all of seven plays before lying prone on the field. I don't doubt for a second Miller wants to be out there, as do his teammates, staff and those of us who sit on the edge of our seats every Saturday. There's bigger fish to fry. There's an experienced, level headed senior quite capable of getting the job done. http://days.to/7-september/2015 Rock on. Haybucks 12 Sep 2013, 5:18 pm I never flew before I had knee surgeries, but from my experience with a "corrected" unhappy triad is if I can fly without pain I'm ok for 12 hours on a concrete floor. This is when Braxton has to be honest with himself, trainers, and coaches. If he says he's OK to go after the flight and effectively participating in drills he should be able to compete. I can see where this is a game day decision, not a Thursday decision. If the world comes to an end, I want to be in Cincinnati. Everything comes there ten years later. - Mark Twain buckguyfan1 12 Sep 2013, 7:12 am What is Vegas saying? :- buckeyedude 12 Sep 2013, 7:46 am I figure I had a 50/50 chance of getting this one right. RedsBuckeyeBoy 12 Sep 2013, 8:44 am The worst part about a sprained knee is how you get fooled into thinking it's all healed until you shove off with that leg in the wrong direction and realize that you just put yourself back to square one. Considering how hard Braxton runs, I'm guessing he'll need at least another week to get back to close to 100%. Urban probably just wants Cal to waste practice time preparing for both QBs. BUCKI06 12 Sep 2013, 9:26 am We all know Kenny G will start because Braxton can't take any pain. Seriously though, I think Kenny G will start. As alluded to in another post, I think Urban knows Kenny is more than capable of getting the win against Cal, and no need to risk further injury to Braxton with a big game against Wisconsin not too far away. I think Kenny starts the game this week and we'll see Braxton back in action against the Rattlers. "As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM Buckeye80 12 Sep 2013, 9:43 am Braxton needs to get reps at game speed. He can't just sit until Wisconsin. (Look how rutsty RGIII looked Monday night) He is the starter and if he is healthy with little or no risk of further injury, he should start. hit_the_couch 12 Sep 2013, 11:51 am You can't compare the 1st game of the NFL season and an NFL Qb to a week 5 college game in Wisconsin. That's as bad as in 'Pulp Fiction' where Travolta tried to compare a foot massage to eatin' a chick out. And then I told her...i'm no weatherman, but tonight's forecast is calling for several inches! BuckeyeQ6 12 Sep 2013, 5:42 pm Why's that such a bad comparison? I think we do need to get Braxton tuned up for Wisconsin, who will have had 1/3 of its season with its offense together. Too bad we don't have Hyde for this game. I'd love to see him rumble through those Bears. hit_the_couch 12 Sep 2013, 11:15 pm It's a bad comparison because the only thing Miller and RGIII have in common are that they are male carbon based life forms. And then I told her...i'm no weatherman, but tonight's forecast is calling for several inches! buckeyedude 12 Sep 2013, 11:00 pm It's been a while since I saw Pulp Fiction. I don't remember that part, but I forget everything. Except the words to songs from 30 years ago.(and yet don't ask me what I had for dinner yesterday, cause I don't remember that either) BTW Hit the Couch, your ICON, although very questionable of taste, cracks me the frick up. Brutus 13 Sep 2013, 1:03 am Holiest of holies? Still nothing? Jugdish 12 Sep 2013, 9:48 am Braxton should start if he is given the OK from team doctors. He is our starter and we cannot give up on him. It is great that we have a top rate QB as a backup. Go Brax - Go Kenny - Go Bucks Remember to get your wolverine spayed or neutered. TBDBITL buckeyemondo 12 Sep 2013, 10:53 am What is the goal this year? If it's to get Braxton in NYC this December, start him. if it's to win the B1G and go to Pasadena, start Smooth Jazz. rkylet83 12 Sep 2013, 10:59 am It seems like we usually lean conservative with injury decisions. Its late in the week and if they are not certain yet its probably a good bet that Braxton sits this one out. Bucksfan 12 Sep 2013, 11:55 am Trick question. Braxton Miller is officially listed as the starter on the depth chart. ChazBuckeye 12 Sep 2013, 12:08 pm I voted for Braxton only because I think Urban doesn't want him to get out of his routine. On top of that, I think Urban's trying to keep everything close to the vest because he knows Cal's HC and wants to make it difficult to plan for what OSU is going to do. I however don't think it's an end all be all if Braxton doesn't start. The offense will do just fine with Kenny G at the helm. Some people think we’re the hunted.I don’t feel that way at all. We’re the hunter.Everybody wants an angry football team.Everybody wants a team on edge and a hungry team.If you’re a hunter, that usually equates to being hungry. brandonbauer87 12 Sep 2013, 12:47 pm Behind the smoke and mirrors will be Smooth Jazz. 4thandinches 12 Sep 2013, 1:28 pm Trick question. The correct answer is Mike Ditka. I wasn't born a Buckeye but I became one as fast as I could. avail31678 12 Sep 2013, 2:10 pm Then who wins - Cal or OSU??!?.....DA' BEARS??? Nooooo! causeicouldntgo43 12 Sep 2013, 7:15 pm I'm getting some physical therapy right now for a nasty case of tennis elbow. The therapists there all agree a strained meniscus takes 2-3 weeks to heal....... KingsRite 12 Sep 2013, 10:25 pm Golfers elbow isn't any fun either. I don't golf but I developed an issue moving a lot of heavy skids with a pallet jack day after day. It took a long while to get back to normal. It felt like somebody had hit me in the elbow with a hammer. “I have yet to be in a game where luck was involved. Well-prepared players make plays. I have yet to be in a game where the most prepared team didn't win.” -Urban Meyer- buckeyedude 12 Sep 2013, 11:04 pm I don't golf but I developed an issue moving a lot of heavy skids with a pallet jack day after day. Maybe you should start golfing. You'll be one step ahead of all the other rookies. faux_maestro 13 Sep 2013, 5:29 am I'm a golfer and I get tennis elbow BAD in my left elbow. Am I doing it wrong? Your mom told me she wants a Dicken Cidar. ArizonaBuckeye 12 Sep 2013, 7:15 pm Kenny G starts with Braxton on reserve in case it gets ugly, and Cardale chillin' as the emergency. "There's nothing that cleanses your soul like getting the hell kicked out of you." -Woody Hayes- airbuckeye 12 Sep 2013, 7:57 pm I think Kenny starts because with BM still not 100% Urb will start Kenny and if Kenny is moving the ball and scoring points then were in good hands. But if Kenny is not moving the ball and Cal is then i think BM comes in to get control of the game. I see no reason to chance BM injury if the game is not in danger and let him heal 100%. OSULax13 12 Sep 2013, 8:20 pm i don't see what all the fuss is really. Urban will play whoever he feels is best prepared and if it's not Braxton so be it. Urbz knows best!
