Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye. Across the Shield follows those who once wore Scarlet and Gray on their journeys through the NFL.

Bosa Bulldozes Browns

This is where we usually lead off with clips of Ezekiel Elliott gashing defenses, hurdling people or jumping into a large red kettle. Unfortunately, the Hero in a Half Shirt does not play until Monday night this week, meaning you'll have to settle for videos of his college roommate mauling the Cleveland offensive line.

The Browns have given up the most sacks to opposing teams this season by a wide, wide margin. Sunday, that offensive line had the privilege of blocking the player Joe Thomas called the most polished rookie pass rusher he's ever seen  – it did not go well.

Joey Bosa finished the game with five total tackles, three tackles for a loss, and two sacks, giving him a rookie-best 9.5 sacks on the season. After his second sack on the game, Bosa gave the Cleveland crowd a salute, throwing up an O-H-I-O.

Unfortunately, his protege Nick was unable to watch because his multimillionaire brother did not have the proper cable package.

To be fair, I don't think Joey is terribly worried about which NFL games he catches at home.

With just one game remaining, it's incredibly unlikely Bosa will break the NFL's rookie sack record of 14.5, but the fact that it was even in the realm of possibility with him only playing three quarters of the season should tell you all you need to know about how dominant he's been.

Side note: The Browns couldn't block Bosa, but they somehow won. Merry Christmas, Cleveland!

Monday Night Flashback

We're going to circle back to Monday night's game because it gave us a few good Buckeye moments.

I give you perhaps the least Ted Ginn Jr. touchdown of all time. The former track star used about 60 percent of his speed, turned around in the end zone and stood there wide open until the ball landed in his lap.

The most hilarious part is that the closest defender to him was Donte Whitner, who has been playing against Ginn since like, 6th grade. If anyone was going to lock him down, it should have been Whitner. Instead, he just hung out a solid 10 yards away. Maybe it was a gentleman's agreement?

Also, Kurt Coleman got punched by Jordan Reed in the second half.

Here's the thing about throwing punches to the head of guys wearing helmets – it's dumb. That did significantly more harm to Reed than it did Coleman, because face masks are made of metal, and he was subsequently ejected from the game. But hey, at least he got the anger out!

Meanwhile, Coleman led his team with nine total tackles and had a interception.

Malcolm Jenkins – Ball Hawk

Malcolm Jenkins was definitively the player of the game in the Eagles 24-19 win over the Giants Thursday night.

Jenkins had six total tackles and picked off Eli Manning twice, taking one all the way back for a score of his own.

The pick-six is Jenkins' second on the season. He joins Bradley Roby as one of just four players with multiple interceptions returned for touchdowns, meaning half of that list are Buckeyes. Typical.

Play of the WEek

Last week, Michael Thomas paid homage to his Buckeye days with a jump ball touchdown reception. This week, he did it with a slant route.

Drew Brees found Thomas around midfield, and the former Buckeye turned on the jets and took it 51 yards into the Tampa Bay red zone.

The play looked remarkably similar to this one against Michigan State, only he came just shy of the end zone in the latest version.

Thomas is great with the ball in the air, but he might be even better with the ball in his hands after a slant route. Which brings me to one of my favorite tweets of all time:

Ohio Against The World

I saved perhaps my worst week of the season for last.

Week 16

I should have started Jeff Heuerman, but adding six points to that beatdown is like putting a bandaid on a severed head. It's over.

It's okay, I don't need your sympathy. The hope was long gone. Thankfully, I'll have a new class
