Pieces in which grown men are given autonomy to slander other grown men are my favorite type of pieces. It's a bunch of dudes chopping it up about the deficiencies of other dudes.

In other words, it's kinda like high school.

Athlon Sports got a hold of some anonymous "Big Ten coaches," and while they're not slanderous against Ohio State, they're not exactly ready to crown the Buckeyes either.

Some of the most interesting quotes:

“Talented, talented team. If you can match up with them on the offensive and defensive lines, you can give them a good fight. For us it wasn’t like, ‘Oh no, you have to play OSU again.’ They can overwhelm people sometimes, though."

Teams have a chance when they can match up on the offensive and defensive lines? That's B1G, if true.

“If you can get your play-action passes going, you can make some big plays against them. They were a little bit suspect in the defensive backfield.”

Hello, Iowa.

“I have a lot of respect for the running back Carlos Hyde, he’s was a really good player. They’ll miss him a bunch.”

Who among us won't miss El Guapo (peace be upon him)? But I think most will be surprised about the status of Ohio State's stable of diamond-toters.

Tell me, Athlon Sports, what does the anonymous sea of haters have to say about Michigan?

“What are they going to do new offensively? They just hired Doug Nussmeier. Where they’ve struggled, they haven’t been what they thought they’d be on the offensive line. They lost both their tackles now.”…

My only question: Why did Athlon cut him off just when the story was getting good?
