Ohio State and Connecticut agreed to a home-and-home series for 2015 and 2016, the school announced Wednesday.

The Buckeyes will play the Huskies Dec. 12, 2015 in Storrs, Conn., before coming to Columbus for a Dec. 10 bout in 2016.  Ohio State is 3-1 all-time against Connecticut. The last time the schools played each other was 1992.

The Huskies, one of college basketball's perennial powers, won the national championship last season under coach Kevin Ollie.

The Buckeyes finished 25-10 last season after losing to Dayton in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Buffalo.

Good. The non-con schedule needed to get better.

should be able to win that one as long as Khalid El-Amin doesn't play.

That last line was not necessary! Awesome deal though. We need more blue blood programs on the schedule. Thanks for keeping us informed, Patrick.

This is great news. In 2015 OSU will play Kentucky and in 2016 they'll play UCLA on neutral courts. Throw in the B1G/ACC games and this series with UConn, and it looks like the non-conference will be pretty decent the next couple seasons.

My first thought was "why?", then I realized it's basketball. Bravo.

Love this. If we really believe that OSU belongs with the big boys (and I'm of that mind), these are the games we need to play. Definitely good news.

I've never said I 'hate' anyone because that would imply I had any emotion for them whatsoever.

Didn't we play them in the final 4 in 1999? Or does that not count since it was struck from our memory the record book

I think you are right... not sure how any one could forget that one.

Bulk up that nonconf schedule, whoop some ayse, then silence the doubters

You can feed a bobcat all the chili it wants. That don't mean it's going to crap out diamonds.

This popped up as an alert on my phone & I assumed it was for football.  I figured it would be 2 easy wins.  Not so for basketball.

Hell to the yeah, love it.  And glad to see it home and home.

The Schott should be raucous on 12/10/16...might have to try to get tickets to that one.  I'm sure the building UConn plays in (XL Center?) will be provide a hostile environment as well, providing a great early road test for next season.

Class of 2010.

UConn plays in two arenas.  Gampel Pavilion in Storrs and the XL Center in Hartford.  They split their games between the two.  The article says Storrs (Gampel).  As far as atmosphere, Gampel is by far the better venue. But for OSU's sake, I hope it is in Hartford.  Note: I am an alumni of both Ohio State and UConn--hence the knowledge.

I like it. Let's do it.

Great news!

I'm stoked for this for a few reasons. I've lived in Ct all of my life and am a huge Uconn bball fan. And being a huge Buckeye football fan, I root for the bball team on most occasions, however this won't be one of them(dv me if you must). I really like the home and home matchup and think its good for both teams strength of schedule. They should be some good games, gonna have to get some tickets!

UConn!!! And just two days ago many were griping about our non conference schedule. I assume this game is not a part of the Dave Gavitt basketball classic that the B1G was getting involved in????

Facking Awesome!  That will be a good one indeed!

Glad to see this. Quality opponents are good for the program, as they can provide a measuring stick to your team's quality. Games against lesser teams also help: you can hone your skills on both sides of the ball and boost the team's confidence a bit.

Our honor defend, we will fight to the end !

If you can't win your conference, just quietly accept your non-playoff bowl game.

Match up of two great coaches as well. I was highly impressed during Uconn's championship run of how Ollie used his substitution patterns. Quite impressive. I hope Thad has the depth to do the same on rotation, and actually utilizes it. Should be great games.
