Bought it yesterday. Gameplay is smoother, recruiting is cool because it now gives you the ability to scout players. A must get IMO.

Not geeking IMO the game is fairly realistic when reading coverages and with online dynasty you really get into taking ownership of other teams. Makes me like watching college football more example I really got into watching sun belt games last year becuase we had a sunbelt online dynasty. If anyone wants to play or whatnot I am Yagerbomb08 on xbox live.
I appreciate all the feedback and due to the arm twisting I guess i will have to add the game to my collection.
By the way, if anyone is interested I made a team of the all time best tOSU players (based off of various lists found on the www). Be forewarned the team is obviously stacked and I tried to be as accurate as possible when it came to height/weight/ jersey #'s etc. The team is named "ALL TIME OSU" and my screen name is LawDog 439.
I'd be curious to see the default OSU roster for this version. The only thing I have seen is that EA thinks Dunn is better than Rod Smith. Many here agree.

Does anyone know of free downloadable rosters out there? I always used pastapadre for xbox but I don't think his are available for PS3 (and if they are, they aren't available yet).
I like the gameplay. The read-option works great, the HB draw is outstanding, and they have improved the ability to strafe as a defender and play a zone.
Disappointed that several Buckeye freshmen are not in the game. No Armani Reeves, Camren Wiliams, and I'm sure others. I'm not sure if it's Decker, but they have O'Connor rated higher than any of our freshmen tackles. Shazier is rated nicely, which was a surprise.
I know several sites are working on full named rosters, there was one set out there that had the top 20 teams named with the rest autonamed. I'll look for it.
I got the game for PS3 yesterday. It is worth buying, but the game play is a little choppy at times. Freshmen in the game include Cardale Jones, Dunn, Ball, Southward, M. Thomas, B. Thomas, O'Connor, Elflein, Decker, Spence, Washington, Pittman, Schutt, Roberts, and Reeves. Of those, Southward and Spence stick out as the best, and really only two that play with the default rosters. Both Bobek and Klein start in the game, and removing them hurts the team a lot. OL depth is bad (which I guess is realistic), but Grant does okay at mlb. For some reason Simon is a 79 strength, which seems a little silly to me.
Simon just read that and upped his workout routine to 5 times daily instead of 4.
When told OSU set school record for 50+ games this year, UFM said "That's good. We're gonna break that next year."
I don't think Reeves is in the game.
usually after the game has been out for a little while, you will be able to google something like "ncaa football 13 ohio state rosters" and someone that has taken the time will just readjust the one someone has done for all teams with names to make it look more like our actual 2 deep, added freshman, taken off guys like bobek & klein, and try and adjust the ratings accordingly. Sometimes its a little biased (doesn't bother me too much), but you get the whole Simon 79 strength thing fixed.
FWIW, i play 360 and downloaded someone's last night that was "xIZ GONE RAINx"... they did like 100/120 teams and autogenerated those bottom 20. There are some obvious mistakes, noah spence is an 82 playing MLB. They had have the Oline completely botched, every guy has been moved and NCAA just left them at their old position I guess, OR the guys that did the rosters messed it up and basically put them where they played last year.

Named rosters for ps3 can be accessed using EALEGEND35. This file has all the players and coaches named. My understanding is that it doesn't delete guys or change their ratings.
I don't know if it's Reeves or not on osu. There is a FR CB who is 5'9 169 lbs that has to be Reeves or Murray. He's from Ohio in the game, so I guess that would suggest Murray (although I know that they are both taller than 5'9). I don't think it's Powell, since he is significantly taller than the other two.

As far as the rosters go....why can I only choose to download from one of my friend list people? Where can I choose to enter another gamer tag? 360. Btw.
On ps3, if you click the 'dowload rosters' on the top of that list you are referring to it will allow you to put in a gamer tag. I assume this is the same on 360.

Murray and Reeves are around 5'9"..and im sure the guy you are talking about Is Murray. EA Sports seems to always be off a little on the ratings, freshman, and even players skin colors(2010 they had Larimore black and Browning white lol)

yes, ea didnt put someone like perkins, cam williams...hell they didnt even put in corey brown#3...instead they put in players who they saw play in the spring game and such...taylor rice...a lineman from virginia....
I have no idea how to pilot a spread offense. This is my biggest problem with the game, and it's more my problem than the game's problem.
A lot of errors in that roster by EALEGEND, but at least it's something..
I have found that you can't go by the #'s when naming the players. Unlike real life the game won't allow two players to have the same # so Either shazier or Brown get 10 and the other gets stuck with a random #. This does make it difficult to figure out who some of the seldom used players are. I just messed around with some of the unknown players and made them the incoming freshmen.
does the OSU playbook in the game resemble what we will be doing on offense? i guess what i am asking is are we in shotgun on most formations? they usually do a decent job making the playbook somewhat realistic to what the real teams actually do. let a brother know!

How do you exactly get the rosters? I downloaded a roster using a guy's gamertag, and then i uploaded the roster, and then i went to check if it worked, and it didnt. Please help a brotha out!
Download the roster, go to file management, delete your older rosters.

If you want a very accurate roster,(360) and you can be patient. The Operation Sports website will be releasing a roster in a couple days. It is well thought out and those guys do a ton of work months in advance to make team templates and fix everything that is wrong out of the box. I got them last year. Very impressive. You'll be able to DL them oon 360 from:

Scarlet_Buckeye just wait for the Operation Sports rosters, they only have about 25 teams left to do and it sounds like they will be very accurate. Probably worth the wait if you can hold off a little longer. It was linked in a previous post
Also, the Heisman mode is a lot of fun. Even though Charles Woodson went to scUM I believe EA messed up big time by not including him. They need a cornerback or defensive player in Heisman mode

From their posts it sounds like they are getting very specific, down to skin tone and dreads and all that. They do mention possible stat boosts but seems to be minimal and equal across the board.

There are 9 total teams in the dynasty. There is a few head to head match ups! The teams chosen are OSU, LSU, FSU, USC, Washington, Notre Dame, Oregon, Clemson and Nebraska! It should be really fun

Wow... I looked closer at OperationSports roster for Ohio State and they really dropped the ball. It's terrible. They completely botched the LBs (but, then again, our lb core is pretty questionable, so how can you blame them?). Leaving Nathan Williams off completely is an absolute joke. They're also missing Corey Brown on defense. I'm extremely disappointed.

Just to clarify I have not downloaded the entire roster yet but I believe the problem is with EA. I took the time to name all of tOSU players and they have them completely out of order. I realize that there are 100+ teams but they completely botched the roster. For instance they have Underwood as the starting center and as pointed out, Nathan Williams is not even listed. What you can do is download the entire roster and then go through and take out Klein and then put Williams in. That also works with some of the players that I had no idea who they were supposed to be so they in turn became Camren Williams, Armani Reeves,etc.
EDIT: I downloaded the roster from "CK11" and they have done one hell of a job! They included as much info as they could to include the right face masks/hometown/etc. I have owned all of the EA NCAA games back to when Chris Weinke was on the cover and this is the best roster I have seen to date!
This guy, MarkItEighttDude (ps3), took the OperationSports roster and made Buckeye edits. I haven't downloaded them yet but a friend said that he may have been a little optimistic in his ratings. Nathan Williams was like a 95 and the highest rated person on the team.

To be fair, OperationSports released their first version of the roster. They have an open thread to provide for any mistakes on their initial beta. It'll be completely corrected in a couple weeks, I'm sure.
I agree but you can't just disregard the injury and assume he comes back without a problem. There's no way in the world he deserves to be the highest rated player on the team. I'd put him at like a 85.
I did the Ohio State rosters for O.S.(360) as well as the rest of the B1G and Notre Dame. tOSU should be prett much spot on. I did all the hometowns, and as much equipment as i could.
- Nathan Williams added, Verlon Reed added #89 because they fixed the duplicate number glitch, Added freshman Perkins, Murray, and Pittman. Some jersey numbers are off like I said. I gave priority to upperclassmen and starters. Storm Klein has been removed.

@GLUEFINGERS - Is your update on PS3, as well? Or are you referring to O.S.'s original roster?
The O.S. roster guys are kinda mad at me for spending more time on hometowns and equipment rather than just names. To me the details matter.
I will be working on another file with a different guy who does many rating edits. He does a good job with the details. This file won't be done for a while, but I'll post an update when it's done.
He makes the players play how they should instead of all the same like default rosters do. EX: Denard and Taylor Martinez have high acceleration and speed, but slightly lower agility and throwing accuracy ratings instead of being loaded in all categories rendering them unstoppable. Both are fast as hell, but don't juke a lot. They are straight line runners. Braxton would be rated high in break tackle, juke and awareness. He's much more dangerous escaping and eluding defenders than he is as a straight line runner like Denard. Collin Klein plays like Tebow, and will be rated accordingly.
These will be released later on, but will be worth the wait.
The problem with doing a community project is all the complaining/ fighting/ homerism. An example would be my 85 rating of Nathan Williams. We ALL know he is better than that, but returns from a nasty knee injury, and might not be the same. If I rated him higher than Bellamy, people would complain of Homerism. Even though Williams was one of the top rated DE's on LY's game. Once the season starts, and Nathan starts tearing heads off, His rating will increase!

I have Williams at 92. Also I have Simon and Hankins the highest rated on OSU roster at 94.
That MarkItEighttDude roster on ps3 is ok. Right now I have Nathan Williams lowered to an 88. I'm gong to replace Tyrone Williams with Riquan Southward probably at a 73 or 74 rating. Does everybody pretty much wear mid length socks? Or does anyone know a good place to find standard OSU equipment?

@Gluefingers...great job with the roster! Figured I would have to tweak tOSU roster but the only change I made was replacing Stewart Smith with Camren Williams.
Just a suggestion to everyone else who downloads the roster would be to change Braxton's injury rating. It appears that he is made of glass as I have already played one season and he got hurt no less then 4 times and missed multiple games. To add insult to injury I bumped him up to a 99 injury rating after restarting my dynasty and he still got hurt in the 1st game against Miami U!
I would just adjust injury sliders on your settings, the whole game's injury system is flawed. I lost all of my quarterbacks in a string of five quarters, along with Jordan Hall, Devin Smith, and Bradley Roby... all in 5 quarters, all out for multiple games.
It's such a load of crap that players are even injured in this game. I know it's not realistic, but when you play on online game and expect to have Brax on Brax on Brax piloting the ship and you lose him in the first quarter, what's the fun in that?
