Mark Richt and Georgia Are Sending Recruits Portraits

By DJ Byrnes on April 2, 2014 at 2:00p

Schools are always sending recruits images and stuff to make their everyday mail stand-out. Some programs (like Ohio State) produce amazing art while others are still struggling to move into the 21st century.

Georgia has gone in an old-school direction, with surprisingly cool results. Here's their latest innovation:

I like to envision a worn out Mark Richt, fresh off dealing with another wave of player arrests, retiring to his artisan rotunda to crank out another batch of recruit profiles.

This looks like it was produced by a police sketch artist. It looks great, if you like wanted posters.

I dont think its a coincidence that this looks like a mug shot.... most SEC players experience this pose at one time or another.

A shot at the SEC. It's on now!

Good call....I was thinking the same thing. That the Police Sketch artist was going to be put out of work as Georgia was taking care of the images ahead of time.

That looks like a runner-up at an 8th grade art fair.

I like how they originally forgot the 'S' in LOOKS then went back and wrote it in afterwards.  Ah, the SEC never fails to amaze.

Champions.  Undisputed.

What's even better is that either one would be acceptable.

C'mon guys, this is definitely a masterpiece. If I got this in the mail I would commit on the somewhere else!

I for one find it inspirational that someone could overcome an apparent skin condition to rise to the ranks and acquire interest from the best conference in any sport ever

Reminds me of the missing posters in Joe Dirt. "my dad came out looking like Father time, and my mom looked like the night stalker."

Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.

seriously bad. I did better in my advanced art class my sophomore year in high school and I am definitely no artist.

btw, is it me or is that 1 really long and skinny for a jersey number? I really do wonder what recruits really do think of this stuff. I mean I can see how they think the Sammy Silverman stuff is cool but would a recruit think that picture is really cool?

I saw a UFO told me to have a goodyear!
