Yes and no.

The offseason begins when your season ends. Even then there are no days off.

I predict Chip Kelly will be coaching Oregon next year.

Come on in the world is Chip Kelly going to run the spread with the current roster in Cleveland? It would take another 2-3 seasons to get the personnel in place to even find out if the spread will be effective in the AFC North.
I want my Brownies to be a factory of play off births and championship calibur teams......not a factory of sadness.

Agreed. Trent Richardson and Brandon Weeden are pro-style players. I think the Eagles fit his system the best (Vick and Shady McCoy).

The South will NOT rise again!

I have to agree that Trent Tichardson and Brandon Weeden are pro-style players.  However, I was also one of the ones who didn't think that Carlos Hyde would fit well into Urban Myer's version of the spread, either.  That seemed to work out ok.
Don't count out Colt Mcoy in Chip Kelly's offense.  The dude was the winningest QB in the history of college football when his career was over.  This would be the perfect system for him to run.
Edit:  Turns out the speculation is all for naught, anyways:

“Right now, Michigan is not at the pinnacle of college football, and that’s all Urban Meyer cares about...He’s been there and knows what it takes to get there.”

I am rooting for the self-proclaimed genius ("they stole our signals"), Kelly to leave Oregon, but wish he'd go someplace else beside Cleveland.
I'm a very marginal Browns fan and thus the angel on my shoulder would have to root for him if he ends up in Cleveland; however, the little devil on my shoulder wants to see him humbled.

Sounds like Kelly may end up in Philly, and the Brownies may get Ken Whisenhunt. Can't say I'd be unhappy with that.

I fail to see how a 500 record in the big east lands an nfl coaching job.
Is there something I'm totally not seeing? Or is it Buffalo being the same Buffalo that they have been since the music city miracle?

I think they are putting more stock in the fact that he was the Saints O-Coordinator before that.  He's also done a pretty good job with Syracuse.

As a Bills fan I was kinda meh about the hire. I wanted a proven coach -- preferably with a ring -- but after some thinking I am fairly optimistic. He's young ( thank the good Lord) and has done a really good job with Syracuse (made Geno Smith's Mountaineers look silly). 25-25 doesn't sound too impressive until u consider that SU had only won 20+ games the last 7-8 seasons. He was interviewed by the Browns and had an interview set with Philly (maybe even a few more). The NFL is starting to evolve and seems like college coaches are starting to transition better now (Carroll, Harbaugh) than in the past (Saban, Spurrier). Why do u think everyone is so hot on Chip Kelly?
Marrone was OL coach under Dungy. OC for New Orleans with Brees. Did I mention he's young?
Besides, could it be worse? We traded btb 7-9 seasons under Jauron for four 6-10 seasons with Gailey. Don't think Marrone will deliver less. At least I hope now. God can't hate Buffalo that much.

Buckeye born and bred. Buckeye til I'm dead.

Nice to see another Bills fan around here. I don't know much about Marrone so I'm not quite sure what to think still. I didn't have time to do a Google search and read up on it. I could probably do one now, but I'd rather waste my time on 11W to be honest. But it's nice to see you put his background down. He has NFL experience to an extent so this may be a good hire. We still need to find a QB because Fitzpatrick is no longer working. I was happy to give him time but he just isn't going to cut it...but unfortunately this isn't a great QB draft class so we may be stuck with him for another 2 years.
And to add to your point about a .500 record at Syracuse, I know at a glance that seems underwhelming, but you are correct in the premise that they won very few games prior to him getting there. He's been able to take them in a good direction and at least be competitive. To do that in what is largely a basketball school and no real desire to support the football team, that's impressive. Will it translate into turning the Bills around? I don't know, but I'll continue to hope it does.

Something tells me the Browns better start looking elsewhere...
