Dammit - I have chills all over again!! Does OSU have the best staff in the country? It's a great staff. Is Kerry Coombs the best assistant in the country? F*CK YEAH!

I used to joke and say we were becoming the Ivy League of the Midwest, and to some measure of seriousness you realize our President was the former President of Brown and Vanderbilt, so top-tier academics is pretty important.
They have been getting better every year. When I was a freshman in 1998 we were the best incoming freshman class and our average ACT was something like 23.5 or 24. I kept reading that it was increasing almost yearly which each freshman class being better than the one before. I think where they are now is about as good as you can get with a population that large.

I'd say you're right about the trendline flattening at this point - my college roommates and I often ponder who would or would not have been able to get in today versus then (2000).
My friend Gordon Gee will tell you that any student in Ohio can go to Ohio State, but the caveat is that if you don't have the academic chops, you'll spend your first year in Newark, Marion, Lima or ATI (Ag Technical Institute, in Wooster), and if you do well there, you'll be able to transfer to main campus. For some, I'm betting that is a frustration, but the net effect, it seems, is positive, as Ohio State has indeed improved over the past quarter-century as a leading academic and research institution.
i read in some of my alumni stuff that the average ACT score for the Columbus campus was a 28.5 last year, and they expect it to come close to 29 this year. A 28-29 ACT score is in the roughly top 10% of scores. Pretty impressive indeed for a school of this size. Yet another reason to say, "Go Bucks!"
Exactly what I was thinking. I'm going to be extremely sad when this guy leaves for a head coaching job. Can't fault him though, we just need to enjoy his time and the rest of the staff's tenure here.
I'm pretty sure I would pass out if I attempted to yell for 5:24 minutes straight - let alone be able to maintain a semi coherent one-way stream of consciousness verbal assault of this magnitude.

And I love Coach Coombs.
We HAVE to keep this coach around long term.

Don't give up... Don't ever give up.
I just listened to this in my schools library and almost tackled the first lady that walked past my computer.
Last of the Mohicans theme is a nice touch!

Fickell run as the 2nd favorite ended as the 2012 season went on.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
I think he went to Drill Sergeant School.
Boy what a blessing in disguise it was when that first CB's coach Meyer hired left after a month.
Buckeyes may never have got Coombs. Glad they have him now!
+1
I was just watching this last night, nice to see it remastered. Dl'ing to playlist for sure.
I would love to hear Coombs give a pre-game or halftime speech.
Now if only we can get Coach Vrable to come in and headbutt someone with a helmet on as the finale...This coaching staff is so bad ass!

Sweet baby jesus.
Each day the recruits/players listen to this, I count it as an automatic win against Alabama's CB coach.
That. Was. Amazing.
