The guy's only 33 and he's taking over a BCS AQ program?!? He has only 4 years coaching experience! Wow. Seems like a pretty big gamble.
I like it. Makes sense. Young, hot shot play caller, just coached a Heisman winner for their rivals, and he's royalty in Lubbock from his playing days. His entire coaching staff is going to be super young as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see Tech's recruiting ability jump up big time.
"...but then again 'Michigan' and 'huge mistake' are synonymous so that shouldn't have been much of a surprise to anybody." - Mark Titus
If it works, it will be good because one would think he would stick around (although you never know, right richrod?) He's still unseasoned in my book, but there is potential for sure. Not only that, who else would they get at this point?
When you're holding a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
I think it's a bigger blow to A&M than you make it sound. Kingsbury's preparation is unrivaled. Unless they get a big time OC (they're angling for Aggie grad Chad Morris), it's hard to see the team being better without Kingsbury
Good for him! Seems like this guy's on the rise...
Here's hoping he still remembers his place:
Scoreboard!!! OSU 45 Texas Tech 21
Kingsbury went 26/44 for 341 yards with 3 tds and 1 int. Kliff also amassed 9 rushes for (-)27 yards.
Wes Welker was Kingsbury's top target with 5 catches for 117 yards and 2 tds.
both were outdone by Maurice Clarett's OSU debut where he went off, to the tune of 21 carries for 175 yards and 3 tds plus 4 catches for 30 yards.
Tech was the only team to score more than 20 points against us (in regulation time) that season.
i think he set the record for climbing the coaching ladder the fastest
It's entirely possible he took the job because nobody else would. They still have a metric ton of problems in their administration, left over from the Leach debacle. If this guy can make it there, at sand aggy, then he is good enough to coach anywhere.
That username is so horrible that I had to upvote you!
The offseason begins when your season ends. Even then there are no days off.
As they say in Aggieland, it's not gay if it's Kliff Kingsbury.
No lie. They say that here.
He's gotta be one of, if not THE youngest coach in FBS right?
Do I come off as arrogant? Shame on me, I was hoping it would be more obvious.
