I think Winrow was part of that first big recruiting class that John Cooper had, the one headlined by another New Jerseyan, Alonzo Spellman. Way too soon.

I'm numb. Jason developed type II diabetes after retiring from the NFL and had his struggles with it, though I don't know if that had anything to do with what killed him.

Here is a story I wrote with him from last summer. RIP, Big Win. This is awful.

With it coming after foot surgery, a likely culprit would be a blood clot leading to MI or stroke or pulmonary embollism, but that is just conjecture.

Lovely piece on him by Ramzy. Sounded like a great guy to shoot the football stuff with, and the kind of guy that I would want to be in the trenches with. His family and loved ones will be in my prayers tonight.

I used to work for a guy that sold him life insurance back in the mid-90s. Never did get to meet him though. I hope he still has that policy; one thing those guys never did was under-insure. Rest in peace, big win.
