So wait... I thought that was Fickell's jerb?
In the article it says Stoops was offered the co-Defensive Coordinator position at Ohio State. I'm assuming Luke would be the other co-DC
yes or maybe Stoops full DC and Luke DL/LB and Asst HC
I think this honestly would be best for Fickell and the team. Let Fickell coach a position group while learning head coaching from UFM. Mike Stoops would be a better DC in my opinion.

I wouldn't have been surprised if Meyer had offered Heacock, since they worked together before. Hope this works out well. Most of what I care about is that this team doesn't lose its defensive identity.
So....
Urban Meyer, former Florida HC (to be new OSU HC)
Mike Stoops, former Arizona HC (to be new DC)
Luke Fickel, former OSU HC (to be new OSU Co-HC)
Does this not sound like too many cooks in the kitchen to anyone else? I get you want to surround yourself with good people, but at what point do those people end up not working well together because they're used to running the show?
Not really.
Urban - Wildly successful with long, proven track record as a head coach.
Stoops - Fired from his first head coaching job, marginally successful. Very successful as DC at Oklahoma.
Luke Fickell - Marginally successful as interim head coach with a very short span in the position. Very successful as co-DC, LB coach and assistant HC.
I think it would work out just fine.
Fickell is NOT a good example of someone who "is used to running the show"- Luke will be more than content to be an Assistant HC & positional coach.

What does "Assistant HC" mean? Are there additional responsibilities?
I clicked on it... I regretted it immediately...
The thing is, Meyer is the boss, he'll have no problem letting everyone know he's the boss, and the guys he's going to have staff will know their role. Quite honestly, I would love for Stoops to be on this staff.
It's funny how the collective fan base can find things to worry about. 10 days ago we are all clammoring for a new coach and a staff that is competent. Now that we lock down the best coach in college football and he is about to assemble an incredible staff, we worry that we'll have too many coaches in a power struggle.
The recruiting power and quality of this staff is going to be incredible. I'll take some strong personalities and intensity on the coaching staff over the pushovers and guys who don't have a clue. Let's embrace the kind of names that are about to come to Columbus and run this program. We could be entering an unprecedented stretch of success for this program,and that's saying a lot considering how great the last decade was.

So pumped about this. Skunkweasel fans trying to downplay what's happening - one told me that he just envisions Urban disappointing us. Yeah, sure, dream on motherfucker. Our coach has 2 national titles plus a BCS win at a school from a non-AQ. He can coach circles around their fat fuck of a head coach. 47-50 at Ball State and SDSU? Get the fuck outta here.

Excuse me if I'd like Urban Meyer to wine and dine me a little bit before I let him and his fancy spread offense take me to bed.
I just love how *ichigan replaces their legendard head coach (Carr) with some hick from west virginia and follows it up with a buffet buster with a losing career record (while being spurned by their first choices in Miles and Harbaugh) and Ohio State replaces their legendary head coach with an already legendary coach who accepts the job one day after it is offered.
