I'm 100% sure that Bruce Hooley is a effing hack who is the poorest excuse of a journalist I can think of. How long until Cleveland gets sick of this hack job and Hooley starts selling insurance?
Another fact I'm 100% sure of - Anthony Rothman is 100% better than Hooley.
we (Cleveland) are already sick of him.....Columbus can have that piece of shit back....good news is he's on WKNR, which is the rock bottom for sports talk in the entire country, so he will be doing weather reports from Des Moines soon enough....fuck that no talent ass clown.....
Another thing... Please give us a warning before you link us to a Hooley article. I don't want to give this hack any hits to make it look to his bosses that people actually care what he has to say.
Stop being so anonymous and unaccountable, Jason Priestas!
PS - Good for you on not giving in to his baiting. His piece is lol-worthy internet tough guy bullshit. I 99.8% guarantee he would not have the balls to shoot his mouth off like that in person to any of you guys (or anyone else).
Are “real” journalists such as yourself trained in the fine art of reading? Must not be considering each and every contributor at elevenwarriors.com LISTS THEIR NAME—FIRST AND LAST--ON EACH POST.
Is this the same guy that got ran out of cbus? i havent lived there in years but either way this guy clearly has an ax to grind with osu. Totally douche. if i could punch this guy in his face and not go to jail i would right now. Go bucks!
11W, the envy of ESPN douche bags everywhere. I want to see a celebrity death match between 11W and Hooley and Herbstreit. Happy Birthday! Many returns!
Hooley is a complete asshole! He has parlayed a friendship with Spielman to get work in the business. He spews morality while forgetting his very shady past. He is that dork from middle school that was ignored by the rest of the world. Fuck him!
If you are asking about his radio gig, he absolutely ripped Tressel after the news broke back in March that he knew about the tattoos. I didn't hear it personally but the station and Ohio State probably felt it was excessive so he was fired. He has been writing terrible and slanderous articles about OSU on sites like Fox Sports Ohio (and now apparently ESPN) ever since.
that is pretty much what I figured. I did not know if there was one particular incident. he is probably bitter that he didn't land the story about the rigged raffle from the 80s summer camp.
If you are going to rip someone at least get your facts straight. Pretty sure that would be a solid rule of journalism. I know every contributors full name on the site. They are pretty easy to find, as in they are at the top of each contribution that they make. I didn't even need a journalism degree to use that skill of investigation. What a goon.
Ah, Hooley... You also argued that Oklahoma and Texas made since in the B1G immediately after arguing that Missouri makes no since because it is too far to travel... You are obviously a genius, and I should take everything you say to heart. Thank you for showing me the error of my ways.
John Henderson who writes for The Denver Post used Hooley for a negative slant article about tOSU program back when they played CU. It just goes to show how these guys in the mainstream media work (very evident during tOSU slamfest), if i need something negative to support my story, I know who to call. Lack of journalistic Integrity = When your own peers ONLY use you when they want a negative bias.
I have been known on occasion to howl at the moon. - Crash Davis
I am glad you put your first and last name on every article you write, because most people have never heard of you until they have a link to click on from a blog like 11W who put their first and last name on every article as well. I like how you're a "journalist" who is supposed to be reporting about all things Cleveland, but have to get involved with what is going down in Columbus.
I realize that Cleveland sports have absolutely no bearing on the world whatsoever, which is probably why you're stuck reading blo like 11W all day. And then scold them for being biased, which we all know local sports blogs usually are. Thank you for that, Captain Obvious. I get the aggression and anger that you might feel reading that some bloggers might have more sources than you, or have the balls to report something before making sure Daddy at ESPN proof reads your articles that might say something positive about our beloved state. Enjoy all or your site hits since 11W is giving your garbage a link on their site today.
Stay classy. First and last name are in bold below.
Anybody remember when Frosted Tips of EsPN was 100% certain Les Miles was going to be the next coach at Michigan? That was in December 2007. Or how Dan Rather lost his job with less than 100% confirmed "hard facts" reporting? Talk about throwing bricks from Origami houses...

Want Urban, DO NOT WANT Herbie. If he can't take criticism as an anchor on the biggest pregame show in CFB, how is he going to handle the pressure to win as a coach at OSU? Makes no sense to me. Hope Urban gets some solid offensive assistants, though. That's sorely, sorely needed.
I love the fact that SbB gets a nod in that article. And by love I mean hate with the fire of a 10000 suns....May Brooks catch a case of flammable herpes.
4-6 seconds from point A to point B and when you get to point B, be pissed off
What's funny is all the Herbie rumors for a QB coach all stem from the interview with Herbue the other day where he said that he would like to coach, and if Urban Meyer went back to coaching he'd like to be the QB coach and one day maybe even O-Coordinator.
Herbie would be crazy to take the job if you are only considering $$$$. Thing is Herbie has had a gig for 16 years that has paid a ton of money. He has been called the face of college football. College football makes ESPN a ton of money. Game Day has been very popular for at least 10 years now. What i'm getting at, is Herbie is probably set for live money wise. The last 5 years it's hard to say how much money he's made.
Also, per his interview, he turned down an 80,000 a year job out of college to make 12,000 a year on a radio show. So, we know Herbie is a guy who will pursue a life that would make him happy. Do I think he'll be on Urban's staff, probably not, but he's a who has a ton of money and can afford to chase a dream of coaching if he chose to do it.

Oh boy. Bruce Hooley -- defender of journalistic integrity. I think I'm gonna puke.
+1 puke
I'm 99.something percent sure Hooley is still an asshole.
Hack.
the fact that ANYONE at ESPiN chastises someone else about journalistic inegrity is a FUCKING FARCE...
Cause I couldn't go for three
Where was the "journalistic integrity" when all the negative rumors were popping up about Ohio State?
that made me angry...
i'm actually spitting mad right now and have an email window open....
"Winter is coming" - Urban Meyer
Don't waste your energy, fellas. Believe me I understand, but it isn't even worth your time.
hahaha i know..i was running with the exaggeration, hombre...but you got the point
"Winter is coming" - Urban Meyer
douche chill
he's sooo irritating

Cleveland has been absorbing Bill Livingston's dog shit for 1000 years or more. He and Toolz should run off together.

Hack job, reprimanding a blog on an espn blog?

IMHO opinion, Herbie would be nuts to leave his job and take a pay cut to coach.
