I know he's still just a kid, but to re-commit when you were going to de-commit, and then de-commit and sign with tsun....sorry, but can't wait to see him get SMASHED by some Silver Bullets. You know it's gonna happen.

You fuck with the bull(s), and you get the horns...

If Hoke's first year on the field is as good
as his first year recruiting , there will be a
2011 Big Ten championship banner hanging
up in about 6-8 months.

It goes beyond stars, though. Pulling him
straight from OSU' s grasp is HUGE. Going into Tsio backyard landing your top, I
say top, priority is a really big deal. This
would be like you comin in and takin our
2013 commit Shane Morris . Hoke is really
something special of a recruiter.

Welcome Kyle to the best university in the
world. You will be part of something really
special in the years to come. Go Blue!!!

I like that part in the movie where Joe Pesci stabs the Guy in the trunk while he's still alive... Classic!!!

No one cares.  You got a one OL you still have one win in the last 10 games.

MYBLUEHEAVEN's picture

Obviously Jason cares if you can read Tampa. Be real with yourself, this really hurts but I'm sure you guys will win future recruiting battles... Just not for a while :-)!!!

A special recriter?  Good one. Let's see how well he does when his biggest rival is off probabtion.  If JT wasn't gone, Kyle would be wearing S&G in a few weeks.

Scott K's picture

Um, Hoke's first year on the job landed him the 21st ranked recruiting class according to rivals.

tOSU - 11

Nebraska - 15

So what you're saying is the team will move from complete suckness, to moderate douchbagery status.

I can dig it...

When you take over with less than a month to go before signing day, inherit very few recruits from the previous coach, and have to do all the other things associated with a coaching transition (put together a staff, start building relationships with the guys already on the team, persuade guys not to transfer away when you're installing a new system, etc.) and you manage to land a top 25 recruiting class, then you did pretty well.

Scott K's picture

I'm not denying that's the case, just pointing out the only one on the books isn't even top 20.  That is not going to win a B1G championship.  Just stating facts, and replying to a trollish comment.

That's a pretty bold statement there, blue. Certainly Hoke is doing better than RichRod on the recruiting trail, so far, but that ain't really saying much. If Michigan actually has a top ten class for the first time in several years(don't really know when the last time they had one and I don't care) this year, it's going to take a couple of years at least, for it to pay dividends.

MYBLUEHEAVEN's picture

Well, MaxPreps has this class ranked #2 in the country just under Texas, and with Kyle now on board that will likely change. Can you dig it???

Gerd says Dodson will be in play once penalties are levied  (if they arent crippling).  That gives me some hope.  Good luck to Kalis in that shithole up north.

Jason Priestas's picture

Yeah, that would be great. Kalis is just a kid and I know my decision making was pretty piss poor when I was his age, so I'm not going to hold any grudges and wish him luck.

I do, however, hope he goes 0-fer against Ohio State for his career.

blazers34's picture

i agree.  and i know its been said before, but I dont see how a kid can like a school enough to commit.......only to turn heel and commit to their arch rival.  i know the situation has changed, but did it have to be tsun??

M Man's picture

I think a lot of the excitement in the MGoBlogosphere is related to the fact that while Michigan has gotten some good kids out of Ohio on a more or less constant basis, it has been a long time since we went head to head with OSU on any of the real elites, and got those kids to go Blue.  Justin Turner was mentioned, Prescott Burgess was mentioned.  Even Justin Boren was mentioned, but as you guys know better than anybody, those are all asterisk examples at best.  Somebody mentioned "Charles Woodson" as an example of the last time it happened.

It's been a long time.

We found out; NCAA investigations, no matter how lame, are big distractions.  Coaching changes can be big distractions.  This kind of thing, with Kalis, is going to happen.  We saw it for about 18 months.  It is going to happen to you, for a year, and then I think it will be all full speed ahead for the Bucks.  Michigan ought to get while the gettin's good in Ohio.

Kalis is a big get, but there's always a tremendous temptation to get too excited on commitment days.  I hope he joins the long list of Michigan OL All-Americans.  He really should have the freedom to get a RS year, and then immediately go to the top of any depth chart.  Which is good for him, I'd think.  Just an excellent opportunity for the young man.

Still, if anybody wanted to proclaim that Notre Dame has been repeatedly pulling in recruiting classes as good or better than this '12 Michigan class, and what has that done for ND?  I'd say I have to agree.  Only time will tell.  Bri'onte Dunn might tell.

In the meantime - "MyBlueHeaven"; "troll" is not a good aspiration.  If you're going to represent Michigan on an opponent's board, you had better dial up your game in terms of being funny, smart and offering them something of value.  It's their board, after all.

I vote for M Man to marry a OSU lady, divide the house evenly in appropriate attire, put up a sign with "A house divided" & be invited to 11w tailgating.

Party's at my House this year.  I'll buy you a beer!  ;-)

Hopefully by the end of the game, you'll be asking me to buy you a shot! :P

I hate that crap, Bucks. I see those flags ALL OVER the city of Toledo. Half scarlet, half blue, and I think to myslelf, "just pick a goddamn team, will ya?!"

Well, thanks I guess. Although I have to ask, exactly what have I posted that was so vindictive, in your opinion, that made you want to address me directly and offer advice to about trolling? Harassment has not been my goal, and I have been nothing but respectful to my fellow rivals here on 11w. Some of what I have written has even been fair and balanced! So I genuinely resent the implications of trolling.

I may post a statement that naturally, few here are going to agree with, and do expect the obvious backlash, buy all means I'm not a fool, but I have never not one time posted anything with intentional malice nor have I ever disrespected one person. I can't say the same for some folks on here, but that's fine, I get it, they won't show love unless your statement is 90% empathetic, and the rest can be filled with a little tasteful school spirit. Their bias and that's the way it should be, we're rivals for better or worst!

I see that you have more of a tactful style of posting and that's fine. I won't judge, point fingers or back stab you for Brownie points M Man, that's not my style brother.

Go Blue....

Bucks's picture

There is no point in going to copy and paste everything that makes your stance that you never posted with malice or to troll, a fallacy.

Regardless, we're rivals & have the best rivalry in college sports. Hopefully, we can start fresh. I'm never against any UM fan being here for civil discord/conversation. When it turns to other things, obviously we (as buckeye fans on our board) don't react well to it. Same is true on any "home school" board.

With the above said Blue, I'll give credit where it is due. Some of the recruiting grabs have been great for you all up north. We'll see what the future holds for us both. This is certainly a brand new cycle/era with each respective school & who knows how it will play out.

At the least, we know it will be exciting.

NC_Buckeye's picture

I actually don't mind it when scUM fans come on here and gloat. I personally wouldn't go on mgoblog and do the same thing... but that's just me. It all comes from the Rivalry so I kind of expect it. I only ask one thing blueheaven. Don't come on here and badmouth Tressel. I haven't been paying attention to your posts so I don't know if you've been doing that in prior posts. But if you (and any other scUM fans) want to be respectful that's one thing you could do. Me and most Buckeye fans are really fond of the guy. A lot of us have personal stories or know someone that has a personal story about Tressel. The general consensus among us is that he's a great guy. So if you want to pay respect to the Rivalry that's one thing scUM fans could do... at least on this blog.

Besides there apparantly is no shortage of State Penn and Hawkeye fans who will gladly come on here and call Tress a cheater, lier, and instigator of the "dirtiest program in the Big Ten". That viewpoint will be represented... trust me.

I'm new to the blogging world, but i already have a strong dislike for iowa and psu fans. Do any of them have jobs? They really are the Mandlebaums of Seinfeld fame.

RBuck's picture

Actually you couldn't go on any scUM blog and write anything close to what mbh does here without getting immediately banned. Which, IMHO, should happen here just for his borish repetition.

When you go on a rival blog and spend time gloating about your team's accomplishments at the rivals expense, then you are trolling because such statements will only serve to antagonize the blog's readers. Case in point:

If Hoke's first year on the field is as good
as his first year recruiting , there will be a
2011 Big Ten championship banner hanging
up in about 6-8 months.

It goes beyond stars, though. Pulling him

Here, you brag about Michigan's success in recruiting against OSU, a matter directly connected to the Tressel scandal which is a major source of pain for OSU fans. You follow this up by rubbing in what a big deal the Kalis committment is. And then you finish by welcoming Kalis to Michigan, which you brag about some more. Now, as a Michigan fan, I share the sentiments you expressed. However, I would choose to express these sentiments on a Michigan blog, where I could celebrate with other readers, rather than here, where I would simply irritate people.

biggy84's picture

Kalis is young, but he is old enough to know the implications of his decision. His coach made him wait to announce so he could understand his decision. A high profile Ohio kid that goes to tsun should realize that they will never be home in Ohio again, ask Des. People can say i'm being harsh, but it is the truth. There have been many star players that have made that decision and i don't know of one that ever was welcomed again. I'm not acting like a scorned fan and fully understand that he has earned the right to go wherever he chooses.

buckeyedude's picture

You're spot on Biggy84. I don't live far from Fremont, Ohio, C. Woodson's hometown. If I ever walked right by  that dude on the street there or saw him in a restaurant or something, would not give a rat's ass. I respect his talent for sure, but that is the end of it. To me, it's a sort of betrayal. Same goes for Elvis, Desmond, etc.

Buckeye Chuck's picture

There's never a good time for a Tattoogate (and everything that ensued) to erupt, but having it coincide with the arrival of a new coach in Ann Arbor has given U-M the opening it needed. For fans of a certain age, this is all starting to look familiar, and ominous.

The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.

buckeyedude's picture

Don't hit the panic button yet, Chuck. Cooper aint coming out of retirement anytime soon.  But I get a little uneasy when I hear the whipper-snappers on here saying they don't ever remember a "down time" for OSU. We're not that far removed from the 90s, IMO. Recruiting is key. Hopefully after OSU gets this behind them things will get back to "normal".

NC_Buckeye's picture

The 90's were a "down time" because we had a coach who forgot how to coach when the Buckeyes were in big games (mostly UM and bowl games). But those teams were not bad teams. My favorite Buckeye squad was the 95 & 96 teams. Which is why I'm so excited to see Fickell (along with Vrabel) at the helm.

If you look at the talent on the field in the 90's, most years we had one of the top five teams in the country. Same could be said for the period I was in school, the Earle Bruce years. Our talent level and recruiting was either #1 or #2 in the Big Ten. But yet again, Bruce's staff occasionally got outcoached. (Also, with the proliferation of ESPN and the SEC, it was apparent to the administration and Buckeye fans that college football was changing. If a change wasn't made then tOSU was going to get passed by -- which ironically did eventually happen to Notre Dame).

So the lesson for Fickell -- big games are important. You have to win them or risk your tenure being labelled as a "down time".

biggy84's picture

It's surprising to see the assistant coaches that Coach Bruce had on his staff. He had a very impressive list.
