Michigan Missing Rich Rod?

One would be hard pressed to find a more beloved Michigan coach in Ohio than Rich Rodriguez. The ol' gunslinger has taken his talents to Tucson, and after demolishing Oregon on Saturday night, has the Wildcats on the up-and-up. Michigan, on the other hand, just lost to Iowa and are the biggest underdogs they've ever been going into The Game in Ann Arbor.

The stats present a pretty compelling case, and hell — the Pac 12 might have been the tougher conference the last two years.

was really surprising to see how empty Arizona's stadium was. Sure they may be a Basketball school and sure many probably expected Oregon to bury them, but as they proved, anything can happen and a good amount of fans with tickets missed out on one of the bigger upsets this year.

Honestly, I almost went, but it was at the same time as the Buckeye's game and the weather was supposed to be horrible (and I'm not going to go sit in cold reason to watch a football game not involving the Buckeyes).

Whether weather was a factor or not, UoA has been struggling to put butts in seats and keep them there for the whole game, even (especially?) in the students section. It has definitely been a culture shock moving to Tucson from Columbus as far as college football support goes.

Which coach would I rather have up there? The "_ichigan Man" who can't coach or develop players, or the "non-_ichigan Man" who couldn't coach and was a complete ass?
Can I answer: It doesn't matter?! Either way, it seems like a win-win to me!

_aybe TTUN just sucks, regardless of coach

Not sure where 'Zona stands at the _o_ent, but how fantastic would it be if these two progra_s _et up in a bowl ga_e at the end of the season?

I am not very smart, but I recognize that I am not very smart.

Man that would be awesome.

UoA has seven wins right now and is looking for their eighth against AzSt this weekend. After the Oregon game that was is a toss up to me (rivalry too). If they lose to AzSt and _ichigan loses to us, they would have the same record.

I would say it is extremely likely and at this point I need to see this game!

It's not the coach--it's not the tradition--it's the letter "__"  They suck!

We get pissed because we think they have a vendetta against us, but that is so_e first class trolling of those dudes up north.

Thank you sir.  I deleted it because I decided to take Earle's suggestion to not use any word containing the thirteenth letter of the alphabet for the duration of the week.
It's been a real pain in the ass -- a veritable personification of the the Wolverines' very existence.

No sacrifice is too great to express hatred of that university and its football squad.

Just say no to italics abuse.

Beats down Oregon, but loses to UCLA, and Wazzu. College football is weird.

His team is already showing flashes of great, but they're inconsistent for now. I'm betting within two to three years they will be where WVU was in the last few years of RichRod's tenure - always in the top 20, often in the top 10, sometimes in the top 5. Always very entertaining to watch.

I for one a_ still a little sad that Rich Rod went away, but _eyer see_s to have the sa_e fire in his belly for this rivalry as Tress did... so I don't see anything changing anyti_e soon.. GO BUCKS!

I for one a_ glad to see Rich Rod having success in AZ.  He got a raw deal up north and deserves better.  I loved hi_ at AACC for different reasons, but glad to see his tea_ showing i_prove_ent.  AZ vs. AACC in a bowl would be priceless.

I agree. The way Rich Rod was treated by TSUN is a disgrace, he never had a chance.

This thread is just awesome.

Maybe Rich Rod thrives on that underdog mentality. Maybe it's that 'we're not supposed to win' mentality that makes him able to coach.

I wasn't born a Buckeye but I became one as fast as I could.

UoA has no real football tradition with high profile alu_ni, neither have they been really relevant on a national level. RR never had a chance at U_, he's had a chance to start over at UoA with a clean slate and more down to earth expectations.
