Urban just got 1000 text from UF fans begging for his return.

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

I've forgotten -- was this from when Kiffin left Tennessee?

Posted this before, but here it comes again.

Love it. He must have done this after his vacation to Pismo Beach.

but the cupboard was so bare...

OldColumbusTown's picture

That's all you hear about.. The cupboard was bare, the talent wasn't there when Muschamp came in, etc. The funny thing is all the upperclassmen and most important guys were Urban's recruits. The "depth" issue is all about the the younger guys not producing, the guys all recruited by... the current staff.

Muschamp could very well be done.

and urban hired charlie Weiss as OC.

What an amazing win for Georgia Southern. And to do it without a single passing yard to boot!

The mighty SEC.......

MarkC's picture

I really want someone to point this out to Kirk Herbstreit:

"How you can watch teams like UM, Neb, and PSU, teams that are suppose to be bell cows w/ OSU, & think the B1G is a tough conf is beyond me!!" - Captain Kirk just 2 weeks ago

How you can watch teams like Tennessee, Florida and Georgia, teams who are supposed to be bell cows of the SEC with Alabama & tell people that conference is tough is beyond me. ESPN paychecks make you say funny things.

RedsBuckeyeBoy's picture

Someone please tell me that they tweeted the last paragraph of MarkC's comment about the SEC "bell cows" to Herbstreit. If not, this might be enough to finally make me create a twitter account!

MarkC's picture

I don't have twitter, so I will give complete credit to anyone who does so (especially if they embed the tweet in comments below).

Of course, #narrative demands something along the lines of: "Yeah, but teams like South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M stepped up and took their place."

To which a logical person would respond: "You mean like Michigan State and Wisconsin?" Both of whom I believe would beat any of those three SEC teams this year.

JTDMD's picture

The sad thing is, they'll probably be ranked in the top 10 in next seasons preseason polls.

They were saving it up for next week.  I know they were. Go Gators!

Muschamp coming back for another season would probably be the biggest shock of the offseason.

southbay's picture

Way to go Georgia Southern, and in the Swamp to boot!
Muschamp is on the brink of losing this team the way Kiffin did at USC.  I suspect a lot of the guys have already quit on him.
Sometimes when you hear about all those injuries, there's another story going on...

and ran for 429 yards!

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here its a war room

Florida simply couldn't handle all that FCS speed.

Comment of the day, Lad.
We need an article with that title, just so the southern internets pick it up.
Would be a hilarious retort against the SEC.

And Georgia Southern completed a total of ZERO passes in the game! But the SEC is so damn good. They just beat up on each other! That's why their the best conference in football. And Florida was preseason ranked #10. What a fraud that conference is!

Because they wouldn't let me go for 3!

Starting out as Number 10 in the nation should be a point repeatedly brought up to call in shows, to ESPN, to all the pundits.
The Overhyped SEC should be trumpeted across the land, with Florida as its flagbearer.
It's time for payback.

Karma, Mus Chump.

TTUN is feeling much better after hearing about this game.  Appy State beat Georgia Southern this year so somebody else FINALLY has a more embarrassing loss than they do.

All Florida Gator fans enjoy the squalor!

Do I come off as arrogant? Shame on me, I was hoping it would more obvious.

What a glorious day it was yesterday: Florida loses in epic FCShion, Arkansas stays perfect in conference play (the bad kind of perfect), Baylor gets exposed, Oregon gets embarrassed, Manziel lays an egg - oh, and OSU just keeps on winning.

It's just a testament to how deep the EFF-SEE-ESSS is that each week one team can go out and beat another.

I want a fall Saturday in Ohio Stadium..

...and from ESPN.  NOT a whisper about the SEC's weakness based on the performance of one its schools, or the lack of athletes.

Just broke my heart..That Georgia Southern didn't roll them by more.

They should have.  They turned the ball over on the 2 and the 6(ish) in the first half.  They also missed 2 extra points and went for it on 4th and 2 on the UF 40 which they didn't convert.  UF hadn't done anything on offense to that point and promptly scored.
GSU had something like 430 yards rushing and 0 passing.  UF had something like 260 total yards.
It was ugly - very ugly.

CC's picture

I was at the game.
I have to say the UF fans are not in denial at all.  One of the girls we were with (very knowledgeable fan) was in the "Let him have one more year camp", before the game.  After the game, her first words were "fire him".
Nobody in Florida believes the cupboards are bare.  They were a very realistic bunch and they know what they have (or don't have) with Muschamp.  Seems like many eyes in Gainesville are on James Franklin.
I will say this, their fans showed a lot of class at the game.  There was almost no booing if any.  When walking out people were congratulating the GSU fans on a good win.  I was impressed and when I said so, their response was basically - "Well, we're not Miami".
It was funny, the people I went with are die-hard boosters etc.  They said they have never seen the stadium so empty.  After the game we looked at the box score - 82,000 fans (90k +/- capacity) the number must have been tickets sold because I would be you there weren't more than 40.  You could read "GATORS" in the seats in the endzone.

Thanks for the update, CC. FL is abysmal, and the fans know it.

Texas really dodged a bullet with Muschamp.

How (and why) the Florida Gators can still win the 2012 BCS National Championship  November 22, 2012"
& to think all the talking heads saying this team was the best team at the end of last season (prebowl).
SEC narrative (every year)...even our 1 loss team is superior to any other conference's undefeateds.  Remeber this if Auburn or Missouri knocks off Bama.  You'll hear it ad nauseum

WhySoSerious's picture

They should and need to be a shame of them selves.
