DAMN YOU TUCKY

From ESPN's Andy Katz: Kentucky coach John Calipari is putting together a four-team tournament like the Champions Classic that takes place in Chicago. The four teams said to be included are Ohio State, UCLA, North Carolina and Kentucky. The site is TBD, but it's slated for a three-year cycle and would be a whole bunch of fun.

Let's hope this happens.

I'll believe it when it happens...politricks will keep this from happening.

Mention Michigan in this house and I'll smack you so hard you'll wish it was two months later so the pain will go away...

In other news, Gene Smith has turned down this offer to play Florida A&M at the Schott.

This would be awesome.

To be the best, you have to play/beat the best. I have always thought that early out-of-conference games against quality opponents prepared you for the tourney. Hopefully this gets done.

I read that the caveat of Calipari putting this tournament together is that the games will be scripted so that Kentucky wins.

Call it the Blueblood Baller Summit.

One of those teams certainly sticks out: Hoops Royalty, Hoops Royalty, O-H-I-O, Hoops Royalty.
The times, they are a-changin'. I love this.

OSU involved with 3 of the most historic basketball programs in NCAA history...SHAZAM! Look how far we've come

I would like to see KU involved as well.

This would be an awesome recruiting tool for Thad Matta.  A guarantee to play at least one of these teams every year, along with a top ACC school, as well as the best conference in CBB.

The first man gets the ((((Oyster)))), the second man gets the shell.

This would be fantastic. Let's make it happen!!
So cool to think tOSU is now widely included among the basketball elites. To me that list includes: UK, KU, UNC, Duke, Lville, 'Cuse, UConn, UCLA... and now the buckeyes.

Indiana and Michigan State too.

I find it hilarious that both MSU and OSU are included in events like this before IU, the supposed leader of basketball history in the B1G.  Is this because Tom Crean is a turd?  ...I think so.

Emma's excited, so you know it must be good.

Well hello there.....
Jeremy, what movie is this from? I've been staring at that gif for waaaaaay too long....

jeremytwoface's picture

It's a newer movie she was in... I can't remember the name.

And does it really even matter????

The first man gets the ((((Oyster)))), the second man gets the shell.

its either "the perks of being a wallflower" or a movie that I think is interesting based on the true story of "The Bling ring", where they rob a bunch of celebrities homes while they are out of town on shoot or something.
Definitely worth watching as she grows into womanhood.

I saw a UFO once.......it told me to have a goodyear!

This makes it sound creepy.

Hair is too long for Perks/Wallflower. The gif also gives off a 'rich popular girl' vibe that definitely doesn't fit her character therein.

It's from "The Bling Ring" and it's an epic GIF; makes me want to see the movie, haha.

Yeah, seeing Hermoine do some bad is satisfying for some reason

This! Why oh why do schools not do more of these? It'd be good for the sport, good for revenue, good for fans. Especially in basketball, where *no one* counts an early season loss against a top team against you come bracket time.
I'd take it a step farther. There should be mini-tournaments every fall to replay the elite 8. Or to pit the athletically qualifying champions from last year against each other. Have it in the same locations every year so it doesn't mess with schedules too hard. Do it as a tournament so it only counts as one game.
How can this be bad for anyone?

The video said the sites would be Brooklyn, Las Vegas and a Midwest site. I'm guessing that Midwest site would be Chicago.

I heard Indy talked about for the Midwest site.  Personally I think Nationwide Arena would be a perfect Midwest neutral site! :)

be nice if it was held at each schools campus

It will definitely happen and I will go to every one of these events.  Despite what some people think, Matta likes the high profile OOC games, he just doesn't want an entire slate of them every year, which is like every other team in America.
