Sean McEvilly Is Out Against Ohio State

October 4, 2013 at 10:16a    by DJ Byrnes
Northwestern won the Super Bowl?

Sean's 2013 according to his Northwestern bio: Started first three games at defensive tackle ... Missed game against Maine with a lower body injury ... Had a career-high 1.5 tackles for loss against Western Michigan ... Registered two tackles and a QB hurry at Cal ... Member of NU's 12-player Leadership Council.

This is unfortunate, because it's always nice to beat teams at full strength. That said, TOP OF THE MORNING TO YA, CARLOS HYDE.

unfortunate, but at least he still makes the All Name team.

hope the weather holds off. I want a heavy dose of air raid. It will help our defense though if it forces us into just stopping their run. It also limits our ability, I believe, in putting up big numbers for a signature win. I'm tired of hearing about a "signature win," but in all reality, now would be a good time for one.

That really sucks. Probably the biggest game of this kid's life. Gotta feel for him

Too bad for the young man.  Don't like to see any player unable to play.

In games like this, I always prefer teams to be at their best/healthiest, so that there aren't any excuses afterwards.
If the weather is as it's predicted, I think that plays in our favor.  Hyde, Hall and Elliot should run wild.

Step one.  Build substantial first half lead with UrbanWarfare
Step two.  Pound the ball down their throats with Carlos
Step three.  Eat gratuitous amounts of clock
Step four.  Repeat steps two and three.
Step Five.  Win Game.
Step Six.  Listen to fans bitch about tresselball.
Step seven.  Absolutely vaporize rest of Big Ten schedule.
Step eight.  Accept short sighted fan's apologies, Hoist Crystal Ball.

I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.

Step three.  Eat gratuitous amounts of clock

Didn't see the l in clock at first.

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

Step 3.(a) - After softening them up with Hyde, hit them with Jordan Hall & Dontre Wilson.

Get well young man.  No excuses, we missed Braxton, Hyde, Roby, Bennett, Washington, Schutt, Linsley and now Bryant. It happens to every team for one reason or another.

This is unfortunate for this guy and the team. I don't think it will negatively effect the Cats that much, they are going to be pumped and prepared for this game and with this injury, another guy gets a chance to shine in primetime (rhyming not intended).

Tough loss for Northwestern, but don't sleep on the rest of their D-line. Tyler Scott is a nasty DE from Youngstown that has really made a name for himself, leading the B1G in sacks last year.

Don't give up... Don't ever give up.

On a serious note, that's a shame.
On a not so serious note, please tell me he's related to this guy:

We have filled the Braxton Miller position.

Feel bad for him!! Good luck to him the rest of the way and hope he sees the field sooner rather than later.

That kid should totally become a doctor.  How cool is "Dr. McEvilly"?

We should strive to keep thy name, of fair repute and spotless fame...

(Also, I'm not a dude)

Bummer hope he gets better soon and doesn't miss too much of the season

We were born to love Ohio State and hate that team up north.

Woah. Super weird. I went to high school with this guy back in Orange County, CA. I knew he went to Northwestern but I didn't know he had made a name for himself. Tough break, for all I know he is a pretty good guy.

rkylet83's picture

With the weather being pretty much confirmed rain the running game will loom large.  Our offensive line will be hammering them in the interior and NU will really be missing McEvilly.

So what Machiavellian scheme does Pat have in store for us now?
