Boom Herron on Ohio State: "I still miss it to this day."

By Jason Priestas on April 17, 2013 at 2:49p

Cincinnati's ABC affiliate caught up with Boom Herron at Bengals offseason voluntary workouts and asked him about Ohio State's spring game, what he expects for the team this year and missing Ohio State.

Asked whether he was able to watch the spring game:

"Yeah actually I did – I was able to see them. I was staying in Columbus, so I was able to check out a couple of their practices and workout with those guys a few times."

On Boom's expectations for the 2013 Buckeyes:

"I have high expectations for them. They have such great talent – they have a lot of great talent coming back. They have a great leader in Braxton Miller and a great head coach and a great staff and I just see nothing but great things happening for those guys."

Asked about Ohio State always being a part of him:

"When I went back it was like 'Man, I'm going to miss this place,' and I still miss it to this day. But you have to move on and let the young guys take over."

I feel like he would have been amazing in Urban's offense. Quick footed with good hands out of the backfield. I wouldn't mind to see someone like Wilson become a version of Boom in the future.

Looking back though, I think Brandon Saine (more than Boom Herron) would've fit Meyer's offense better.  Great speed and a much better receiver out of the back.

I definitely agree with that. I was always a big Saine fan but just didn't think he really fit well into what Ohio State was doing at the time.

Man, Boom came up big a lot of times. Like the other guys involved in the scandal, I wish that last year of theirs could've been a full year...They'd have been hard to beat.

Man, what I would give for this interview to be by an Oakland news organization talking to Pryor. The reaction would be glorious!

Only to the few that refuse to get over it.

Boom willed his team to win more than one time.  A true man at Ohio State.

"I miss Brady Hoke."

Funny coincidence, I was thinking about Troy Smith and Beanie Wells.  And how much I don't miss their being at Ohio State.

So you're saying 2004-08 wasn't fun for you? That's weird, I had a blast.

M Man, you spend a lot of time thinking about OSU.  You need to drop the facade and change your avatar to a Buckeye helmet.  The jump from the darkside to the light isn't as far as you think.  Good for you it would be.

Wish nothing but the best for Boom. I will always remember his long run versus TTUN in 2010. He should of been credited with a TD but the refs were obviously high that day.
