Bad news came today as Ohio State basketball lost starting center Dallas Lauderdale for 4-6 weeks with a broken hand. Lauderdale will get surgery Wednesday and it is unknown if he will be able to return for the team's opening game against Alcorn State on November 9.
Chances are Kyle Madsen, Zisis Sarikopoulos, and Nikola Kecman will get to see some valuable minutes in the first two weeks of the season which could be a blessing in disguise as the Bucks could need those players to give them valuable minutes off the bench, but the Bucks will certainly need Dallas back in the lineup when they take on UNC in The Garden on November 19.

GOOD LORD.
kyle madsen makes me want to die. by being set on fire. and being eaten alive by wild dogs while on fire. in the middle of a volcano while on fire and being eaten alive by wild dogs. and when i almost dead someone drops me off of a building that is in the middle of a volcano while i am on fire and being eaten alive by wild dogs.
our bigs sucked ass with a HEATHLY dallas lauderdale.
Better now than in March. As long as he can make it back by Dec. 2 against Florida St., they will be OK. It could bring back visions of when Oden was hurt and this team ran up and down the floor with the best of them.
Am I the only one geeked for this hoops season?
Dallas needs to start practicing his left-handed free throws right now. Just thinking ahead.
Yes
Simply put....yes
no!
i am insanely excited for basketball season. and that doesnt make me any less of a football fan.
who is this 7 footer, Z something, and is he another 1st round bust that losses us scholarships?
agreed!
Im just kidding around.....it IS football season tho......
At this point, probably.
TSF, don't keep it all inside, let it out. How do you really feel about Madsen? No sense sugarcoating it this close to the sason.
Unfortuantely he's not even good enough to probably be a second round bust....He's a transfer from UAB that was brought in to bring some size depth and can be a solid role player for us, but I can't see him being a starter unless he develops big time
I'm always ready for hoops. I've been talking with my boy PJ Hill and he's pumped about this season. National Champs this year.
Is that an honest opinion man? C'mon.....
National Champs? Um.......isn't that a stretch?
That is unfortunate. At least Lighty is back. Next year is suppose to be our year for hoops, but I want to see us do well every year.
The Real National Championship... How refreshing. Not this year but probably within the next two.
Ski. Its real this year. Lighty, Hill, and Turner can all play lock down d. This team will run and be athletic at every spot on the floor. Buford is a star in the making. Diebler is a vet in his Jr. season along with a host of others.
Bottom line is D wins championships and Hill, Lighty, Dallas, and Turner are some of the best defensive players in the big ten if not the nation.
On offense with Lighty and Turner's ability to get to the cup will open up the 3 ball for Diebler and Buford.
I look for this team to win close to 25 games heading into the NCAA tourney this year. That will be good for a 1 or 2 seed depending on if they win the big ten.
If it comes together and they don't lose anyone to injury during the year they will be a force in the field of 64.
NO
Remember this team has mostly Jr. and Sr. players. Plus one of the nations top 5 players.
So why shouldn't we expect great things.
Turner is the best player since JJ was at OHIO State
I think a Sweet Sixteen or Elite Eight is a more reasonable expectation from this team
