Tom Knox of Columbus Business First reports Ohio State University received a record number of applicants for the 2017-18 school year.
A university spokesman told Knox Ohio State received 52,425 applications, a 6.1 percent increase over last year's 49,407, which was also then a record.
Coinciding with Urban Meyer restoring the football program to national prominence, Ohio State's applications are up a staggering 82.8 percent since 2012.
Fall semester starts Tues., Aug. 22.
