Eleven Dubcast: If You Haven't Played an EA Sports Game in Over a Decade, You're In For a Rude Awakening

I've never tried particularly hard to avoid being an unabashed hater. It naturally wells up within me, this bile that compels a nearly four-decade crusade of being the fly in the ointment for people just trying to enjoy one damn thing in their lives.

Oh sure, sometimes I feel bad. I get that there are a lot of people who have spent the last 11 years waiting for college football to return to their home video game consoles, and who probably want guys like myself and George to shut the hell up and let them enjoy Madden 24.5 in peace. But, also: EA Sports is a terrible company that makes billions of dollars pushing bad products in a marketplace that they have an essential monopoly over. So it's hard to balance the two, especially in light of people losing it over a pretty normal trailer that just dropped.

Just... try not to get too emotionally involved in this thing. Or, at least, don't put any more effort into convincing yourself that it's a good game than EA did in making it.

Plus! Ask Us Anything wants to know what football plays made us laugh the hardest, Georgia has another driving incident that's maybe not that bad this time (maybe, who knows), and never post your BBQ on the internet.

  • What I will say is that the music for the trailer goes hard
  • Marv is getting sued! It's probably not a huge deal for the Route Man, but it'll be interesting to see if this kind of thing starts popping up more often
  • Ask Us Anything - which you can do by sending us your missives to dubcast@elevenwarriors.com - wants to know our favorite comedy movies
  • Denard fired, Michigan becoming more Wisconsin-er by the week
  • I don't know what about grilling shit that brings out the most snobbish, catty behavior in humans, but for real, never submit your BBQ output for internet consideration

And that does it for the Dubcast this week, watch the show now on YouTube above or visit our Transistor page for links to other listening options such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more.

Thanks as always for listening and checking out the Dry Goods store, and we'll see you next week!
