Michigan fired Sherrone Moore for cause after he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a staff member.
Sherrone Moore could be facing criminal charges just hours after he was fired by Michigan.
Police in Saline, Michigan, detained the now-former Michigan coach on Wednesday and turned him over to the Pittsfield Township Police Department for investigation into potential charges, ESPN’s Dan Wetzel and Pete Thamel reported Wednesday night.

As of 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, it was unclear why Moore had been detained by police, though Saline Police told The Detroit News that there was “an incident Wednesday that required police attention.”
According to online records, Moore was booked into jail at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Washtenaw County, Michigan.
