Welcome to the Skull Session.

Ohio State quarterback commit Luke Fahey can sling it.

Also... 76 points?!

Have a good Saturday.

WELCOME TO NOVEMBER. I've written about all there is to write about Ohio State vs. Penn State. There's the Jim Knowles stuff, the Nittany Lions' collapse stuff, the Buckeyes' dominance stuff — you know, all the stuff.

As I think about Saturday's matchup, I can't imagine many scenarios in which Penn State beats Ohio State. Without Drew Allar, the Nittany Lions' passing attack will be non-existent (sorry, Ethan Grunkemeyer), making their offense one-dimensional against the best defense in college football. Good luck.

On the other side of the ball, Penn State's pass defense ranks No. 6 in the FBS, but that doesn't matter when Ohio State has Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate. The more important stat? The Nittany Lions rank No. 91 against the run, and if Knowles' defense can't stop the run — well, good luck.

The Buckeyes are a 19.5-point favorite as of Friday. That's unexpected, considering Ohio State started the season as 3.5-point favorites over Penn State, but I don't think it's enough. The way I see it, Ohio State’s defense continues to look generational as Julian Sayin and the offense rev up their engine, teasing the potential to enter a fourth gear that the Buckeyes seem to be saving for Michigan, the Big Ten Championship Game, and the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State 34 - Penn State 6

Welcome to November!

THE MENU. When looking at Week 10 in the preseason, Steak F posted that he dared his wife "to ask him to do some dumb s— on November 1st" as his ESPN app featured:

OUR PICKS. Ummmmmm, don’t look at how Andy, Dan and I did in Our Picks for the Wisconsin Skull Session. OK, OK, I’ll tell you: Andy and Dan both went 1-4, and I went 2-3. But (!) Vegas had some of its best lines of the season — an eight-point Georgia win to cover 7.5 and a 10-point Notre Dame win to cover 9.5. Turns out the Sharps know their stuff!

Andy: 13-27
Chase: 22-18
Dan: 17-23

No. 9 Vanderbilt at No. 20 Texas (-2.5)

Vibes around Vanderbilt have never been better, as Clark Lea and Diego Pavia have the Commodores in College Football Playoff contention. Vibes around Texas? Not so much. Despite a comeback win over Mississippi State last week, Steve Sarkisian has been rumored to have interest in the NFL and Arch Manning was in concussion protocol this week, though he’s been cleared to play today. Still, a win over Vanderbilt could diffuse the tension in Austin.

Andy: Vanderbilt
Chase: Vanderbilt
Dan: Vanderbilt

No. 5 Georgia at Florida (+7.5)

Like Ohio State vs. Penn State, The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party was supposed to be a battle between two of the nation's best teams. However, Florida has not looked close to their preseason No. 15 ranking, as the Gators suffered losses to South Florida, LSU, Miami (FL) and Texas A&M before the school fired Billy Napier on Oct. 19. Nevertheless, Georgia is just a 7.5-point favorite in a matchup for which oddsmakers set an over/under total of 50.5 points.

Andy: Georgia
Chase: Georgia
Dan: Georgia

No. 18 Oklahoma at No. 14 Tennessee (-2.5)

Oklahomaaaaaa... what happened?! The Sooners peaked at No. 6 in the AP Poll in Week 7, then sandwiched a win over a scrappy South Carolina team between losses to Texas and Ole Miss. Tennessee also has two losses — the quality kind, to Georgia and Alabama. This game could go either way, but the Volunteers having home-field advantage at Neyland Stadium might be the difference in what will be a College Football Playoff elimination game.

Andy: Tennessee
Chase: Tennessee
Dan: Tennessee

No. 23 USC at Nebraska (+6.5)

This is also a College Football Playoff elimination game, albeit with considerably less juice. Both USC (at Illinois, at Notre Dame) and Nebraska (Michigan, at Minnesota) have two losses — though the Trojans’ aren’t nearly as bad as the Cornhuskers’. USC is favored and has three of its final four matchups at home (the lone road trip is to Oregon). Nebraska’s schedule looks manageable, but this is a team that lost 24–6 to the Golden Gophers, so USC, UCLA, Penn State and Iowa all pose real danger to Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers.

Andy: Nebraska
Chase: USC
Dan: Nebraska

No. 17 Cincinnati at No. 23 Utah (-10.5)

Big 12... after dark. At 10:15 p.m. ET, Cincinnati and Utah kick off at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. The Bearcats are undefeated in the Big 12, but none of their opponents have a winning conference record. They’ll also be without Evan Pryor, the former Ohio State running back, who is nursing an ankle injury. Pryor’s absence, combined with Cincinnati’s travel and Utah’s talent, has oddsmakers favoring the Utes by double digits.

Andy: Cincinnati
Chase: Cincinnati
Dan: Cincinnati

BACK TO THE BUCKEYES. Future Pro Football Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski will be in Columbus on Saturday ahead of FOX's Big Noon Kickoff Ohio State vs. Penn State to host "Gronk's Pregame Party" at 9 a.m.

Someone tell Jeff Svoboda.

For those who understood that reference, great.

For those who didn't...  here's the context.

Back in 2006, as Ohio State prepared to face Michigan, a young Gronkowski was standing in front of Ohio Stadium’s south stands looking like he’d seen better days. That infamous photo has become a social media staple — and it features none other than Jeff Svoboda!

Gronkowski recounted the moment in April during an appearance on the Green Light podcast with former Patriots teammate Chris Long.

"I went to Ohio State for a visit. I think it was right after my season in high school, so I'm freelancing. I don't have to worry about getting back and being on point," Gronkowski told Long. "My two very good friends went to The Ohio State University. They are a year older than me, so they are already in college. I'm like, 'Oh, perfect. I'll take a visit to Ohio State, go out with my buddies the night before and then go to the game.' We go out until like 2 or 3 a.m. to some frat houses, playing Beer Pong, all that good stuff. I'll just say I was drinking water because I was only 18 years old at the time, so it was just water. But I was feeling good off the water."

Gronkowski said the night included two brawls, where he “threw a couple of haymakers” and came out on top both times — calling the fights “fun.”

Fun, however, was the last word he would use to describe the following morning.

"I wake up, and I'm feeling like a disaster. I go to the game and someone takes a picture of me looking like that," he said. "All that water that I drank got me feeling like that."

Ohio State was one of seven offers Gronkowski received out of high school, according to 247Sports. The Pittsburgh native ultimately chose to attend Arizona over Ohio State, as well as Clemson, Syracuse, Maryland, Penn State and Pitt.
