C.J. Stroud steals the show in today's skull session.

Get yourself a defensive coordinator who quotes Plato while making his players smile like a second-grade yearbook picture.

Jim Knowles is a treasure.

Word of the Day: Scrupulous.

STEALING THE SHOW. I think the term "stole the show" is probably used a little too flippantly, but it perfectly describes what happened at the WHAC on Wednesday afternoon when C.J. Stroud – who is not draft-eligible and was simply there to help make his receivers look good – was arguably the most impressive player on the field.

Oops!

I have absolutely no way to prove this, but I'd bet money Stroud would have been the first quarterback off the board if he was draft-eligible this year.

Enjoy the tanking, NFL teams!

YIKES. I've been on the "Ohio State desperately needs a quality point guard" tangent for a while now, and I still think that's priority No. 1. But the second-biggest issue with this team was that there wasn't a reliable post presence.

In this year's tournament, that was uh... evident.

If you need help interpreting what you're looking at, this chart tells us that Ohio State struggled to create shots at the rim, and when they got them, they didn't make them.

The good news is that help is on the way in the post, too – Chris Holtmann just signed freshman center Felix Okpara, who is really the first pure center Holtmann has brought in at Ohio State, and he's a top-50 prospect.

So, between Okpara and Bruce Thornton Holtmann's got the best post player prospect and the best point guard prospect he's ever signed coming in the same class.

BRUNK SAYS BYE. Speaking of Ohio State's poor post presence, Joey Brunk sure tried his best. And I don't even mean that sarcastically or in jest. The dude worked his ass off, and was probably single-handedly responsible for the Buckeyes' win over Sparty on their senior day.

So even though this was the third jersey he put on in his career, he can gladly call himself a Buckeye for the rest of his life. We'll claim him, and it sure sounds like he'll claim us, too.

A thank you to Butler University, Indiana University, and Ohio State University for the opportunity to play at each historic institution and be a minuscule part in the history of each place. Being able to leave with a degree from each university is something that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. When I was envisioning what it would be like to play in college, I never anticipated how it would pan out in real life. Losing my father at nineteen at the beginning of this journey was devastating. However, this has shaped my perspective and led me to where I am now. There were certainly plenty of highs and lows along the six years. Transferring was never an easy choice, and if I had the opportunity to drink a beer with everyone who had something to harsh to say, I think we’d get along well by the end of it. I plan on rooting like hell for Butler, Indiana, and Ohio State for the rest of my life.

...

I would say I am an old soul. I love The Eagles and have Take It Easy tattooed on my leg. Joe Walsh, from The Eagles, said: “You know, there’s a philosopher who says, ‘As you live your life, it appears to be anarchy and chaos, and random events, non-related events, smashing into each other and causing this situation or that situation, and then, this happens, and it’s overwhelming, and it just looks like what in the world is going on? And later, when you look back at it, it looks like a finely crafted novel. But at the time, it don’t.’” There have been many times I felt the over-whelming pressure of these events and had no clue how it would ever work out. It wasn’t the way I anticipated it going, but I think it’s a pretty damn good novel.

Godspeed, Mr. Brunk.

And know that your novel ain't done yet – you merely finished another chapter.

FEELING SENTIMENTAL. After 30 minutes of catching passes on a rope from his beloved QB1, it appears that Garrett Wilson was in his feels a little bit realizing that this aerial showcase might have been the last time he'll ever catch passes from C.J. Stroud.

The League sure hopes they end up on different teams, I can tell you that much.
