The Cleveland Guardians are currently in 1st place in the AL Central with a 32-24 record, good for a 3.5 game lead over the Chicago White Sox. The Guardians have surged with a 8-2 record over the last 10 games, sweeping a 4 game series at Detroit and then following that with a series win at Philadelphia. 

Cleveland has managed to push to the top of the division with the help of 3 rookies; P Parker Messick, 2nd baseman Travis Bazzana, and RF Chase DeLauter. The team acquired Gold Glove C Patrick Bailey from San Francisco. Angel Martinez and Brayan Rocchio are having excellent seasons to date, with Rocchio being the most productive #9 hitter in MLB. The Guardians to date have been a considerably better offensive team than last year, even with Jose Ramirez and Steven Kwan off to slow starts at the plate.

The starting pitching, as usual, has been, and will continue to be the backbone of this organization. Gavin Williams, Joey Cantillo, and rookie Messick are a strong threesome that have so far have given Manager Steven Vogt consistently good starts.
