If the golf gods are real, they will strike me dead when I step onto the links today at 11W's Grassroots Golf Outing. If I prove them fraudulent, I plan on riding a golf cart all over their graves.

11W WEEK IN REVIEW. Here is some stuff written this week by people more talented than me:

SHANNON SCOTT GETS BUSY. D'Angelo Russell's Summer League journey has received tread in these parts, so it's only right Shannon Scott gets his shine after this brass-balled move last night:

It's still a longshot Scott lands on an NBA roster this year, but crazier things have happened.

HAPPY TRAILS, TOM HERMAN. One of the worst parts of the 2015 campaign will be people complaining about losing Tom Herman after the first quarter in which Ohio State fails to score at least 35 points.

Tom Herman — who, you might not remember, was a member of MENSA — played a methodical game. I think Ed Warinner is just going to let slip the Slobs of War.

The (likely subtle) differences will be fascinating to watch.

THIS VINE SLAYS ME. This Vine, like me, is from Marion. I have no idea what the "Touch a Truck" is, but I dare somebody to say the City of Kings doesn't throw it down for the Buckeyes:

I dare somebody.

THOSE WMDs. Hunter S. Thompson justifying Fear and Loathing expenses to his editor... Talented prep athletes: Never tweet... The Anti-Smoking Network... Online swindlers target older women on dating sites... BaltimoreSun.com wants to know, "Which Wire character are you?"
