A trio of returning All-Americans and NCAA title contenders will lead the Buckeye wrestling team as captains for the 2018-2019 season. Seniors Micah Jordan, Myles Martin and Joey McKenna were officially named captains Monday.

Jordan will wrestle Ke-Shawn Hayes to start at 149 pounds this season after wrestling 157 last year. The middle brother of the three Jordans either coaching or wrestling for the Buckeyes this season, Micah holds a career record of 84-18, is a two-time All American and two-time Big Ten Tournament finalist.

He recorded 10 victories by fall last season at 157, and is ranked No. 2 in the preseason standings by FloWrestling at 149 pounds.

Martin is the top-ranked 184-pound contender entering the season according to Flo. The 2016 NCAA champion at 174 pounds is a three-time All-American and two-time NCAA finalist with a 96-18 career record.

Freestyle phenom Joey McKenna rounds out the trio of team captains. The reigning Big Ten champion at 141 pounds, McKenna also won a pair of Pac-12 titles at Stanford prior to transferring to Columbus. The two-time All-American and reigning U.S. Open champion boasts a career record of 79-8, and enters the season ranked No. 2 nationally at 141 by Flo.

Ohio State kicks off its wrestling season Nov. 3 vs. Navy at McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Md., Martin's high school alma mater.
