Buckeye wrestling recruiting is on a roll. With the season two weeks underway and a half-dozen nationally-ranked prospects already signed, head coach Tom Ryan added a seventh Top 100 commitment this week in California standout Alex Felix, the No. 8 138-pound senior in the country.

Felix, a three-time state placer for Gilroy, was something of an unexpected surprise for the Buckeyes. Ryan told Eleven Warriors in late October that his 2018 class was pretty much complete, and those commitments, including two commitments ranked No. 1 in their class alongside another Junior World medalist, all signed their letters of intent during the early signing period last week.

Felix looks like he has the credentials to fit right in with his classmates. From InterMat:

Felix, ranked No.76 overall in the Class of 2018, placed third as both a freshman and last year as a junior, while finishing fourth at the state tournament in his sophomore season. He also was runner-up at the NHSCA sophomore and junior nationals during the spring of the last two years.

He projects to wrestle at 141 collegiately, according to InterMat's scouting report.

Prior to receiving Felix's pledge, Tom Ryan broke down an already stellar Class of 2018:
