For the second time in the 2026 NFL draft, Ohio State players went back-to-back.

One pick after the Los Angeles Rams drafted Max Klare, the Buffalo Bills selected Buckeye cornerback Davison Igbinosun with the No. 62 overall pick in the second round of the draft. He joins safety Caleb Downs, who the Dallas Cowboys selected No. 11 overall, as draft picks from Ohio State's secondary.

It was the second time in the 2026 NFL draft that Ohio State players went in consecutive picks, as Carnell Tate went fourth overall to the Tennessee Titans and Arvell Reese went fifth overall to the New York Giants.

It’s the second straight year the Bills have drafted a defensive back from Ohio State, as they selected Jordan Hancock in the fifth round (No. 170 overall) of the 2025 NFL draft.

Ohio State's 2026 NFL Draft Picks

Igbinosun spent three seasons at Ohio State after transferring from Ole Miss in 2023, starting for all three seasons he was a Buckeye. He was a member of back-to-back No. 1 defenses for the Silver Bullets in 2024 and 2025, emerging as an elite corner in both run support and pass coverage over his career.

In 2025, Igbinosun cut back on the penalties that marred him the previous two years and collected 53 tackles, two interceptions and eight pass breakups. He went from one of the most penalized defenders in college football with 16 penalties in 2024 to just five in 2025, and that, combined with his production, landed him first-team All-Big Ten honors. Per Pro Football Focus, he allowed just 22 receptions for 207 yards and no touchdowns in 46 targets, a completion rate of just 47.8% and a mere 4.5 yards per target.

A member of Ohio State's national-championship-winning squad in 2024, Igbinosun picked up 45 tackles with two tackles for loss, two interceptions and nine PBUs that season. He logged 59 tackles, 1.5 TFL and five PBUs after transferring in from Ole Miss in 2023.

Igbinosun is the earliest draft pick from Ohio State at cornerback since the 2020 draft, when the Detroit Lions selected Jeff Okudah No. 3 overall. Okudah capped a run of four first-round corners in five years for the Buckeyes at the time.

Igbinosun is the seventh Buckeye selected in the 2026 draft, joining Tate, Reese, Sonny Styles (No. 7, Commanders) and Downs and fellow second-round picks Kayden McDonald (No. 36, Texans) and Klare. Five players from Ohio State's 2025 defense alone have been selected in the first two rounds of the draft.
