Morton comes to Columbus after serving as Samford’s quarterbacks coach in 2025. Prior to that, he spent the 2024 season as an offensive analyst at Auburn and worked as a graduate assistant at Troy in 2023. He also logged two seasons with the Tigers as an offensive analyst in 2022 and a player analyst in 2021.
A native of Niceville, Florida, Morton played quarterback at Southern Miss, appearing in one game as a redshirt junior in 2019 before graduating in 2020.
Morton replaces Wendy Laurent as Ohio State's assistant tight ends coach. The former Penn State offensive lineman and graduate assistant left the Buckeyes this offseason after landing a full-time tight ends coaching position at Old Dominion.
