Bo Jackson is the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
Yes, that’s Bo Jackson, not Julian Sayin, who has won the award four times this season for his performances against Grambling State, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Penn State.
Jackson was one of Ohio State’s top performers in the team’s 42-9 win over Rutgers, recording a career-high 19 carries for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Jackson has reached the century mark five times this season (Grambling State, Ohio, Penn State, UCLA and Rutgers) and three times in the past four contests.

The Cleveland native and Glenville graduate powered an Ohio State rushing attack that recorded 254 yards on one of the worst run defenses in the FBS. Behind Jackson, Isaiah West had eight carries for 48 yards, James Peoples had three carries for 55 yards and one touchdown, and Lincoln Kienholz had three carries for 37 yards.
This season, Jackson leads Ohio State with 129 carries for 835 yards and five touchdowns. He’s also hauled in 13 passes for 138 yards and one score.
Jackson is the fourth Buckeye to earn a Big Ten weekly award, joining Sayin (five total awards), Caden Curry and Arvell Reese (one each).
