Jaxon Smith-Njigba was one of the NFL’s best players this October.
After notching 24 catches for 417 yards and three touchdowns in three October games, the former Buckeye was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for the first time in his career.

Smith-Njigba had at least 123 yards while scoring a touchdown in all three games this month, including an eight-reception, 162-yard, one-touchdown performance in the Seattle Seahawks' win over the Jaguars on Oct. 12.
Through seven games, the third-year wideout has 50 catches for 819 yards and four touchdowns. Leading the NFL in receiving yards, JSN has 99 more receiving yards than any other player this season, as Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja'Marr Chase is second in the league with 720 yards in eight games. Smith-Njigba has put up these numbers while having the sixth-most receptions (50) and fourth-most targets (70) in the league this season.

If JSN continues his current pace for the rest of the season, as he is averaging 117 yards per game thus far, he would break the all-time mark for receiving yards in a single season, previously held by Detroit Lions great and Pro Football Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson.

JSN and Pro Football Hall of Famer Isaac Bruce are the only players in the Super Bowl era with 800 receiving yards in their first seven games of the season at age 24 or younger.
Smith-Njigba is the first Seahawks receiver to earn NFL Offensive Player of the Month honors. Former Seahawks receivers Tyler Lockett and Nate Burleson both won Special Teams Player of the Month during their Seahawks careers.
