A major injury to Washington's secondary may make Julian Sayin’s first road test of his career a little easier.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Washington star cornerback Tacario Davis is doubtful to lace it up against the Buckeyes on Saturday afternoon. Davis — an Arizona transfer — has been held out since Washington’s 70-10 victory over UC Davis on Sept. 6, in which he left early due to an injury.

During his time at Arizona, Davis landed on the All-Pac-12 Second Team in 2023 while garnering All-Big 12 second team honors in 2024. His strong play across the last two seasons has translated to his time at Washington, as Davis has tallied two pass breakups and an interception during his short time with the Huskies.
Across three games, Washington’s passing defense has found itself in the middle of the pack nationally, ranking 62nd in the country while allowing 199.7 yards per game. Davis’ potential absence would be a major blow to the Huskies’ upset opportunity, as the Buckeyes enter Seattle with the No. 25-ranked passing offense, producing 283.3 yards per game.
The Buckeyes and Huskies kick off from Husky Stadium in Seattle at 3:30 p.m. Eastern. The game will be televised live on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
