Film Study: Occasional Errors in Execution Marred an Otherwise Efficient Offense Against Ohio

This one felt very different when watching a second time.

Last weekend's 37-9 victory over the visiting Bobcats will likely be forgotten when many look back on the 2025 Buckeye campaign, as the home team continued a century-plus winning streak over in-state opponents by another comfortable margin. Heck, the team from Columbus outgained the opposition by a three-to-one margin.

For those watching live, however, it certainly felt like a close game that could have gone either way. But without the announcers and momentum swings that could be felt both in and outside the Horseshoe, the tape showed a contest in which the team in scarlet largely dominated.

As we'll discuss in today's episode, there were clearly issues that the Ohio State offense must address as it moves into Big Ten play. But many such issues were about communication and minute errors in execution that can be corrected. Good thing the Buckeyes have an extra week to do just that before taking the field in Seattle.

Here's what we go over in this week's video breakdown:
  • Examining a series of Red Zone miscues
  • The Buckeyes had plenty of answers for the Bobcats' Cover 3 zone
  • What slowed the OSU run game early, and how they corrected it as the night went on
