Christmas in...August?
For the second straight year, Caleb Downs gifted Beats to his Ohio State teammates.
"Caleb has the floor," Ryan Day said as he left the star safety in the middle of the team huddle inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center locker room.
There were then plenty of smiles seen as Downs began to speak, holding the gift box in his hands.
"We've been putting in a lot of work. In the Bible, it says, 'discipline precedes time for a harvest.' It's time for the harvest," Downs said while the whole team looked on. "We've got action next week. We got action. It's time to let it go; it's time to let it show on the field. But God has blessed me with a chance to gift everybody on the team with a pair of Beats. So, I appreciate y'all. We've got some stuff to do next weekend. Let's keep working."
As Downs completed his speech, he put on the exclusive Beats as his teammates danced and celebrated before going back to their respective lockers to open their own set of Beats headphones.
Beats announced this week that Downs is one of nine college football players it has partnered with for the 2025 season. The other members of the “Beats Elite” class – who were “carefully selected for leadership, character, and a commitment to excellence—both on and off the field” – are Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams, Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood, Georgia running back Nate Frazier, Texas linebacker Colin Simmons, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore, Florida quarterback DJ Lagway, Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer and South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers.
