It's hard to find a coach more accessible to the media than Ryan Day, especially at a program of prominence like Ohio State.

For that reason, the Football Writers Association of America has named Day as its Super 11 Coach of the Year, an honor presented to a coach who provides "outstanding media accessibility to their program throughout the season, notably through consistent interview opportunities with the head coach, coordinators, assistant coaches, and players," an Ohio State press release stated.

"All you have to do is watch the press conferences when it comes to Ryan Day," FWAA president Bill Bender said in the Ohio State release. "He takes questions from all outlets on arguably the largest beat in college football – and they often stretch well past what would be an acceptable amount of time to get those questions in."

Day is the seventh recipient of the Super 11 Coach of the Year award. Past winners include Florida State coach Mike Norvell (2023), TCU coach Sonny Dykes (2022), now-former Boston College coach Jeff Hafley (2021), now-former Indiana coach Tom Allen (2020), Kansas State coach Chris Klieman (2019) and now-former Arizona State coach Herm Edwards (2018).

Through six seasons at Ohio State, Day has led the program to a 70-10 record, two Big Ten championships, four College Football Playoff appearances and one national championship. Day is one of five coaches to win a national title with the Buckeyes, along with Paul Brown, Woody Hayes (five), Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer.
