All four of Ohio State’s starting defensive linemen from last season were selected in the 2025 NFL draft.

After Tyleik Williams was drafted with the No. 28 overall pick in the first round by the Detroit Lions, JT Tuimoloau was selected in the second round by the Indianapolis Colts and the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Jack Sawyer in Round 4, Ty Hamilton was the fourth Ohio State defensive lineman and 11th overall Buckeye off the board as the Los Angeles Rams selected him with the 148th overall pick in the fifth round.

It’s the first time Ohio State has had four defensive linemen selected in the same NFL draft. Ohio State is the first school to have four defensive linemen selected in the same NFL draft since all four starting defensive linemen from Clemson’s national championship team were drafted in 2019.

Hamilton heads to the NFL after a five-year career at Ohio State in which he recorded 116 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and eight sacks. He finished his career with his most productive season, recording 51 tackles, six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery as the starting nose tackle for the Buckeyes’ No. 1-ranked defense, which led Ohio State to a national championship.

Much like his older brother DaVon, a third-round pick in the 2020 NFL draft, Ty saw his role gradually increase over five years as a Buckeye and became a crucial cog in Ohio State’s defensive front by the end of his career. Now, he’ll look to follow in his brother’s footsteps again by carving out a successful NFL career as DaVon Hamilton enters his sixth season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, having signed a three-year, $34.5 contract extension with the Jaguars in 2023.

Ty Hamilton and Williams are the first tandem of Ohio State defensive tackles to be selected in the same NFL draft since DaVon Hamilton and Jashon Cornell were both drafted in 2020.
